ackbar
I checked out a 2010 Fusion Sport at my dealer today. It's a beautiful car. Like others have said, it's even better looking in person than in the pictures. You'll understand when you see it. It's more aggressive and substantial looking than its predecessor, without looking bloated, like the Accord or even the Malibu. It also looks and feels like a much much more expensive vehicle than it is. Everything about it seems really high quality, from the solid, smooth feel of the gas tank lid opening, to the doors that close like a safe door, to the quality of the ride. The interior also looks far better in person than in the pictures. I really liked the leather seats -- very supportive without being too cushy or too firm. The touch-sensitive nav is impressive too...so glad Ford went with touch sensitive and not the horrible dial-based nav systems that some other carmakers are now using. Maybe I'm just excited, but I can't really find anything to complain about, it's just that good. I think everyone is going to be really impressed. I know can't wait to get mine
Louis M
Hi Louis, unfortunately there is really no rhyme or reason or coorilation between when the cars were ordered and when they are determining to ship them out. It seemed, at least initally, that the later built units were actually shipping out earlier than the units that were built the first few weeks of production. This is what I have gathered, it may or may not be correct. All I know is our dealer ordered a SE model in February and it's set to arrive 2 days ahead of mine which was ordered November 15th. If your dealer would really like to do you a favor, he has the ability to track your car at a fair level of detail. I wish I could give you more info, but there is no access to units ordered with other dealers. I feel your pain and good luck! SVT, thanks you for your insight. I am going to see my dealer tomorrow as I am terming my '06 SEL. Hopefully, he can shed some more light on this. I'll let you know what happens. The only reason that I am not as anxious as I might be is because I am a CPA in my own pracxtice and April 15 is occupying my mind full-time. Thanks again. Sundedo
My dealer just emailed me. Sundedo
Congratulations, Sundedo! Look forward to your pictures. Well, looks like a piece of the molding on the rear passenger window was damaged in transit so they ordered a replacement. It should be there tomorrow. So as it stands, I'll be seeing it tomorrow after work and doing the financing and take delivery on Friday. She said the techs there were almost giddy looking at the new Fusions, pouring over the new engines and fantastic interior
transitman
I got an e-mail from my salesman and mine is scheduled to be built on 4/20. Should take about two weeks to ship. :happy feet:
bbf2530
I got an e-mail from my salesman and mine is scheduled to be built on 4/20. Should take about two weeks to ship. :happy feet: Hi transitman. :D Just as an FYI: The "build dates" the Dealers are given are actually "Build Weeks". So your Fusion will be built the "week of 4/20". If you notice, the "build dates" that people are given are almost always Mondays. So your Fusion will actually be built somewhere between 4/20 and 4/25 (if the line runs on Saturdays). Not overly important, just thought you might like to know. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited April 1, 2009 by bbf2530
fusionhybrid85
Drove by a dealership(Gorno Ford) today, they had at least 4 Fusions right out front in the dealerships. They were all Fusion Sports, I must say, damn hot looking car, especially in person.

Sounds like you are getting closer, did they say if the car was built yet or not? If it is, I would say there would be a very good chance you will get it within 3 weeks. Hang in there! Update on mine....today it's set to arrive at the Chicago staging yard so it should be taken off the railcar tonight and loaded on the car carrier tomorrow (hoping). If it is loaded on the car carrier tomorrow, it will arrive tomorrow as we are a few hours away from the staging yard in Chicago. It's been a looooonnnnnnngggggg wait since November. I can't wait but I am sure it will be well worth it!

Sundedo
Well, not happy Turns out the Fusion that they ordered for me was the 2.5L NOT the 3.0. Everything else was exactly right. So now it's decision time for me. They're going to hold the 2.5 for me while I decide if I want them to order me a 3.0. :heartbreaker: The car IS beautiful. Pictures in a few... Sundedo
Take the 2.5L. You'll be smiling every time you pass the gas station. Trust me. This has crossed my mind. But the 3.0 would be better suited to our roads and traffic here... It's giving me a headache trying to decide... Wait 30 days for a new one? ooooooor..... Take the one already here? Did you give it a test drive to see how it performs? I know it's a big downer, but you might be perfectly happy with the performance. If, however, you don't think you'll be happy with the 2.5, the silver lining is that the dealer may be willing to haggle a little more or throw in a bunch of free car washes or something due to the mistake. It's painful to have to wait when you are so close, but I would expect the time-to-delivery will be much faster now that production is actively taking place. Just make extra certain they get the order right (and see if they can up it to a priority 1)!

I can tell still tell the difference between the 2.5 and my wifes '08 3.0L. The listed difference in fuel economy is only 4 mpg. How much do you think the dealer will haggle given that I'm already getting X Plan pricing plus $1,500 lease termination cash? She said if they order a new one they would just modify one of the ones they've already allocated. Then they would bump that one up to priority 1. When my lease ends on the 13th they would give me a loaner to drive until the new one comes in.... I'm so torn!!!!!!!!
Pioneer
How much do you think the dealer will haggle given that I'm already getting X Plan pricing plus $1,500 lease termination cash? Everyone that came into the showroom had to walk right past it. betaiota
Picked mine up last night. I haven't drove a 4 cyl since my Escort when I was 16. I haven't really got on it yet, but so far all I notice is a different tone. I'm averaging about 26mpg mixed, and it isn't even broke in! The radio design is a nice upgrade and a huge step forward in ergonomics. The HVAC- not so much. It seems like the buttons are slanted down when they should be slanted up so you can read them. But that's being extremely picky. The sync feature is unreal, I think Ford did an outstanding job there. Why isn't this car more photogenic? It looks ok in all of the pictures, but absolutely gorgeous in person.
