Ford recorded $21.4 billion dollars in revenue (ignoring non-automotive revenue) selling 973,000 vehicles worldwide for the quarter yielding an average sale price of almost $22,000 per vehicle. GM recorded $22.2 billion dollars in revenue selling 1.616 million vehicles for the quarter yielding an average sale price of $13,733 per vehicle. No wonder GM is in such dire straights. Part of the upgrade that seems to have failed. That date, probably predates this site. Anyways as to his post, I'd like to see more of his breakdown, Ford Chargeing//recieving double the price as GM? I don't believe that GM can claim all the revenues from some of its lucrative JVs, especially those in China. Ford's sales aren't heavily dependent on China or JVs elsewhere. That's certainly not all the difference, but it is part of it. That said, Ford's NA performance in particular has been pretty good these first four months. Share is stable while revenues per unit are higher. That's outperforming just about every automaker except maybe Honda (I haven't looked at their numbers closely). Keep up the good work Ford. This will change when Ford starts selling the Fiesta and new Focus. Ford will have more revenue from more vehicles, but less per vehicles.
