RichardJensen
"Certainly Rick and his team seemed to believe that virtually all of their problems could be laid at the feet of some combination of the financial crisis, oil prices, the yen-dollar exchange rate and the UAW," Rattner wrote. This is exactly the difference between Wagoner & Ford. Bill Ford knew there were problems at Ford that needed to be addressed. Wagoner couldn't admit it. akirby
This is exactly the difference between Wagoner & Ford. Bill Ford knew there were problems at Ford that needed to be addressed. Wagoner couldn't admit it. And Mulally was willing to do what was necessary to fix the problem and knew exactly what to do, including such drastic measures as cutting production to match demand (oh my!), getting money while it was available and allowing the engineers to build the best vehicles possible. GM still doesn't get that.
97svtgoin05gt
There hasn't been adequate house cleaning as of yet in the upper management ranks within GM. A competent, outside manager should be put in place at the top, Fritz should either be put down lower in the food chain or be asked to leave and the engineers designing the products need to have their brains wiped of anything and everything old GM. The need new completely outside the box products available immediately. I don't have a lot of hope for them or Chrysler actually. I saw this one and was going to post, but I also saw where Fiats profit has spiraled downward 95%!!! That can't be helping the revival of Chrysler at all. I still say no more money for these knuckleheads. What are we supposed to do, bankrupt 4 future generations just to keep these mismanaged messes alive?
