"withdraw from the small car market in the United States". Really? This idea is on the table right now? -

Common sense says (I know, that may be asking too much) if I need an 84 month loan, I may not be able to afford this vehicle -
Fields Sets Ford on Dual Track
97svtgoin05gt replied to SoonerLS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
This whole self driving car thing is just, I dunno, far fetched at best. Once again I say after being in the computer industry basically my entire adult life I'm not getting in a vehicle driven by sensors and computers. No way. -
Hmph, more than I imagined by quite a margin. I would've guessed sub 160k.

Does anyone know what the total division sales were in '15 for Buick? I can't see it being relevant much longer.

Nissan has been fumbling along with their truck now for years. This is not even a half-baked attempt to jazz it up. It won't work. If Nissan is serious about the truck business, they're going to have dig deep into their wallets and come up with 2 or 3 brand new products with GOOD design language to drive that business. Warranty aside, without compelling, desirable product, why would truck buyers stop by their shop? I don't believe this strategy will get them just about anywhere.

Thieves make off with $250,000 worth of Chevy wheels..

I had to replace a single rim on my '97 Cobra once because it got bent. That wheel was $300. Could NOT believe it. -
Lexus IS gets hit with a bigger ugly stick...
97svtgoin05gt replied to blwnsmoke's topic in Competing Products
Here's a question for you. What Japanese motor company at the moment has NICE design language?? I'll help you. NONE OF THEM. Think about it. We've discussed what Lexus has out there. Yuck. Mazda?? Yuck, na, not much going on there. Toyota?? Yawn, not much going on there. Nissan?? Yuck, in competition with Lexus for the ugly award. Mitsubishi? They should just quit already, ugly and unappealing. In the end, I believe Infiniti probably has the nicest Japanese design language out there for SUVs at the moment. From a purely looks perspective, I'd take just about anything from Ford or GM over just about anything Japanese at the moment and might even consider a Durango over many of them. -
I got to drive "ludicrous speed" Tesla Model S!

Wow, a $125k car works a little better than a $35k car. Who'd have thought!!??? -
Chevy engineers talking smack already about ripping the GT350R a new one on or off the track. Remember when Chevy guys used to blow their bags about how Ford needed a blower to compete? Haha, shoe on the other foot now. Believe me, they'll be using the whole "factory stock" argument to their advantage this time. With us though it was BS.

SWEET! -
No one really mentioned the $84,000 price tag on this baby. I mean I know its a Caddy but $84,000?????? That to me is dizzying.

The dry DCT should've never made the prime time at Ford. Its a piece of garbage that does and will continue to haunt them until the entire public knows not to go near one and they sell 0 cars with them. The thing is a piece of junk and it should be stopped in its tracks today. F fuel economy at this point, put a regular 6 speed auto into that Focus and regain some lost market share. Or, come up with an 8 speed, retain your precious extra single MPG and make it reliable.

Ford Motor Company September 2015 Sales Results
97svtgoin05gt replied to ANTAUS's topic in Production and Sales
I almost guarantee that the stupid transmission is the reason for the Focus dropping off. People know about it now and the automatics are for sale everywhere. What a huge failure that thing is. If they plan to pull that trans out of there it'll probably take 2 years to regain any sort of momentum back. -
As nice as this car will be and as much fun as it would be to have between the really small numbers they'll be here in and the assured markups that will be placed on them I think I'll be sticking with my ST.

Better than the first one but not enough

I cannot even imagine how frustrating it must be to work at RFR right now. My understanding is that Jack still wants to make every decision and his decisions at this point are questionable. I believe its time for a shakeup there but because its his baby, hes not letting go anytime soon. Meanwhile they've become just another mid pack race team apparently satisfied with 15+ place finishes. Its beyond frustrating, I root for Penske now but a lonely 2 car team cannot stand up to the likes of Hendrick and Gibbs by themselves. I think Ford should either pony up the money to get in and get it done the right way or get out all together. Just my opinion.
