Ford Jellymoulds
Auto Express.... Ford is celebrating its rich history at the Le Mans 24hr race, with five special editions of theFocusRS. Production of the 300bhp hatch is drawing to a close, but these latest releases are here to make sure it doesn't go quietly. Each of the five models pays hommage to a particular Fordrace carthat made history at Le Mans. The Focus RS in black with white stripes and gold wheels honours the 1966 GT40 Mk II, the red one with white strips is a nod towards the 1967 GT40 Mark IV, the white car with a blue stripe echoes the 1967 GT40 Mk IIB - the two-tone sky blue and orange the GT40s that dominated Le Mans in the late sixties - and finally the two tone white and blue model mimics the Capri RS 2600 which took the Touring category in 1972. LINK They look great. It was a terrible mistake for Ford to have denied the U.S. market that car. I hope they do offer an RS version on the new Focus. NickF1011
It was a terrible mistake for Ford to have denied the U.S. market that car. Depends on whether or not it could have been done profitably. It's certainly a better car than our Focus and it would have been nice from a brand perception standpoint. At least it will all be remedied by year's end. Do we know if we will get a performance version? The RS might have kept some kids out of Hondas and in the Ford family.

I don't think it has been confirmed, but there's been strong hinting toward it coming here.
akirby
I don't think it has been confirmed, but there's been strong hinting toward it coming here. I thought Ford confirmed performance versions of both the Fiesta and Focus but I'm not 100% sure.
PREMiERdrum
I thought Ford confirmed performance versions of both the Fiesta and Focus but I'm not 100% sure. I seem to remember rumblings of both "ST" and "RS" versions of the new Focus, both being sporting models, with the ST slotting between the regular Focus and the RS. The ST was all but confirmed for NA, the RS was still questionable due to cost.
Project-Fairmont
very exuberent...a bit conspicuous for my taste, but I can see the appeal to the under 30 crowd. Something that is surely lacking in the Ford NA line-up.

fou_bleu
I'll have the 1967 Shelby (red) one thanks! :D With SVT/RS teaming up. there was confirmation the first joint project was an RS (or at least a world-wide ST / XR4 Turbo as it will probably be here in Aus...) PS: We here in Australia feel your pain RE RS too...
