fordmantpw
Really, if all we have to complain about the new Malibu is the door locks, it should be a great car!
atvman
That should prove to be a very wise decision. Agreed. Last time I checked, the take rate of V6 midsize sedans was less than 20%. A very good base I4 and an optional boosted I4 should be all that's necessary.
rmc523
That's a great way to save some money. Put it in the center so the driver and passenger can reach it, and boom! You just eliminated an extra switch out of hundreds of thousands of cars. If GM sold 500,000 of these cars, thus eliminating 500,000 switches at, idk .05 cents each? Probably more because you have the switch itself and all the extra wiring 500,000x0.05 They just saved $25,000 :shades: Except for the fact tht GM put the lock/unlock switch on both the center stack and both front doors. What's not logical about it? Practically, the central locking switch should be located in a central area of the dash, and the new Malibu fulfills that ideal. Hve you had/used a car with the lock/unlock button in the middle for an extended period of time? It's not very convenient at all.
LastMercury
I hate, loathe, and despise the current Chevy grill. Good looking car otherwise.
630land
I credit GM for updating the Malibu so quickly, but that brain dead Impala needs the plug pulled stat! Will they ever bring a new one? Or do they want to break the old VW Bug's record for age?
probowler
The Camaro does too and GM just announced that they are adding the switches on the doors for MY12. So instead of being smart and saving $25k as stated in the example above GM is wasting money (expense passed to Joe car buyer of course) by adding useless, redundant switches to their non-world vehicles. Oh wow haha, so much for that idea. What were they thinking? lol
