bifs66
The Ford GT will race again this weekend at Sebring. Practice times have been pretty good; but they haven't been the fastest. The Shelby GT350R-C Mustangs have qualified 1st and 4th for today's Continental Tire series race. Anyone know why the Ford DP cars are not running this weekend? coupe3w
I'm pretty sure the Ford DP cars are no more. They ran at Daytona, but I think that was the only race for them this year.
coupe3w
Here is a good read about the Ford GT. They do mention that the DP cars are going to Sebring in the article but like you said not listed in practice times. http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/1603-exclusive-inside-the-ganassi-racing-ford-gt/
coupe3w
Ford GT's 5th and 8th in class. Better but not great.
Moosetang
That's modern endurance racing: you keep getting better until you're great or you rub out of cash.
akirby
Scott Dixon led some laps near the end and they finished on the lead lap. Not bad. Anyone know what happened to the other GT? It had a problem and got down a few laps early but seemed to run fine after that (I think).

The #66 GT hydroplaned off track during the rain storm at the beginning of the race and got front end damage that had to be repaired. The#67 almost got a 3rd place finish but got "moved" off track with about 10 minutes remaining and ended up 5th. Still have work to do and there will be 4 GT's at Le Mans Numbers will be 66, 67, 68, and 69. The years the original GT40's won in Le Mans., pretty cool. Would be nice to see at least one of them win it.
akirby
Tough to win with a first year team and car.
traxiii
The TV coverage didn't show the incident #67 had in the final moments, nor did it even mention it's fall of 2 spots. One of the corporate guys said something about it, but didn't say where it happened or with who. It was pretty cool to see the #1 blazing on the side of the Ford GT for the bunch of laps it lead after the Red Flag period. In case you worn't watching, the Red Flag was for Lightning and Extreme Rain Downpours, flooding the track. They had to get the corner workers and camera operators under cover and had to stop. Next stop Long Beach for a sprint race and Silverstone for the opening race of WEC, happening on the same weekend, April 15-17. I'm looking forward to Laguna Seca 2 weeks later as I'll be flagging a corner for the weekend, and should get some up close views of the action.
