old_fairmont_wagon
But consumers don't know all that. They see HD and immediately equate it with HDTV. It would have been better labeled digital radio. There were actually several different standards and trade names proposed for digital radio on the FM band. Some had longer, more descriptive names, but, regulators liked the general idea of the name HD radio in that, it COULD be better if the station wanted it to be. I don't have much of a problem with it because I understand it, but I can see where a lot of people would be a bit off-put by it.
Bryan1
Would you miss AM radio? I listen to AM daily, and the lack of AM would weigh heavily in my car buying decision. Same here. It would be missed. I listen to talk radio every day and some days all day. But Ford isn't getting rid of AM in their trucks anytime soon so all is good.
