Ron.Bumpus
Waiting to receive the 2017 Raptor. I have had the 2011/ 2012/ 2014 raptors and have done numerous items to each of them, I am now at a loss with the new EcoBoost motor and 10Speed, Not sure what I should/shouldn't do to the vehicle. Any thought?
akirby
Not sure what I should/shouldn't do to the vehicle. Any thought? Drive it! If you're looking for more power a tune is the way to go. MKS and Taurus SHO owners have had great success.
Chris Eddlemon
I've been debating on what I'm going to do, but haven't seen much that interests me yet. Definitely want to look into doing a tune and possibly an intake, but would need to do more research.

elfsysop
I really want to get a winch and more lights up front, I looked at addicted desert designs bumper with winch but requires a intercooler or something...(I am not a mechanic). I need a good shop in northern / central California to help me. Does any one know anyone ? Any help, greatly appreciated. Actually my first choice would be a brush guard bumper with winch and LED panel up front, the after market i have searched doesn't show this for the ecoboost. Need a shop to put it on for me even if I buy the kit online.
Wolfeman
I would like to know more about what you are doing with the sub. I bought a kicker 8" shallow sub that I was going to swap out with the Sony and maybe wire in a small amp. I've seen a member on another forum do this and it only took a little bit of modification to the factory enclosure. I'm sure you're probably doing much more than that though. laughing here.have the tuner from 5-star already need to send Strategy code.replacement speakers / SubBackFlip Maxrear brakelight (recon)Stubby antenna for that extra 1 HP that Chris Eddlemon mentioned Blacked out "Blue oval" from Ebayscuff guardsYes I know most a BS itemsordering the cold air kit from Rousch

I plan to add the ADD Honey badger bumper to the new one, but I have found that the new truck's technology requires relocation kits to move things around to accomodate the bumpers. The tech certainly adds to the complexity of things. Edited January 13, 2017 by tbone

I wad curious why you selected the Rousch kit? I have a K&N CAI now, but mostly because I couldn't pass up the price. I don't know if it made a difference on the power, but I did like the sound it made. I am considering a CAI for the new one, but I really haven't done the research on them yet. I'm going to see if S.W.A.T. 4x4 specialists in Fremont can install the intercooler mod from ADD that is required to install the stealth bumper with winch. If so I will opt for that. They have great reviews on yelp and not too far from where I live. I'm still looking though, kind of hoping for more of a brush guard with winch, just not sure how that would look. Need a winch to go off-road alone. I learned that the hard way with my 84 CJ - 7.
akirby
For a minute there I was thinking that must be one hell of a winch if it requires an intercooler........
elfsysop
Wow, just read installation instructions for relocating intercooler (or wtf it's called) CANT BE DONE IN COMMUNIST CALIFORNIA so no ADD bumper with winch for me. I can't wait to gtfo of this crap hole.

That will hinder ADD's sales quite a bit, considering the number of Raptors that will be destined for California. A lot of really disappointing things happen in California. akirby
Parts are probably not CARB certified.
tbone
Parts are probably not CARB certified. It does not appear they are, however I'm surprised because it is an upgrade and relocation of the intercooler while retaining some of the OEM components. It doesn't change the emissions. akirby
Apparently the intercooler parts all have to be CARB approved. Whether or not it gets flagged is probably up to the inspector. And no, it doesn't make sense.

Not dealing with rational governance here in the land of fruits and nuts. 40,000 new regulations get passed annually, most control small to mid sized businesses ability to profit. If it wasn't for the cheap foreign labor in Silicon Valley, the state would be a broke ghost town. More leave than arrive, when counting US citizens. elfsysop
The other Raptor forum has some suggesting 2" trailer hitch winch rigs. Anyone have experience with this set up? Trolling the web shows a lot of promise considering a front end tow kit can be installed with no changes to CARB lol....sorry. My Raptor comes with a rear tow kit so a hitch winch would work if wiring could be easy. Most use would come pulling myself BACK out of a dumb ditch move anyway. Some looked very portable, almost too portable while others looked way complicated with wiring and such. Cost is lower too....
