trupilot
I have a Navigator coming in August, search did not turn up a current discussion of the performance of Hankook tires. Looking for experience/opinions on whether swapping out the Hankooks for another brand would improve performance, quality of ride, etc.
twintornados
You haven't even driven the vehicle and you want to swap out the tires already?? All brands of tires have their fans and detractors....drive it first and go from there...or, just put some Michelin's on it. Maybe the dealer can make a trade out deal for you. akirby
My experience is the Ford factory tires are very good at least for the first 15K - 20K. You shouldn't need to swap them out before then.
trupilot
I have owned 4 F-150s in the last 20+ years. Never had anything but good service with OEM tires, especially with respect to service life. One difference, this time, is that Hankook is unknown to me. Previous vehicles were all equipped with tires made by companies I know. A side effect of ordering a vehicle in March and waiting until this week to get a build date is to much time to think, maybe overthink, things. I have test driven a Navigator and didn't get any sense of problems with the tires. After reading through various forums and topics here I have enjoyed the opinions and insights of some seemingly knowledgeable posters. Just thought I'd throw the topic out there and see where the conversation went. If Hankook is as good as it gets I'm happy with that. twintornados
The irony is that when it came time to put new tires on my 1974 Gran Torino Elite last week, the tire spec I wanted included whitewall tires, no 'Murican tire company had whitewalls in my size.....Hankook Optimos did, and after much review, my mid-seventies classic now rolls with non-American branded tires on it...I really wanted to put some Firestones on it...but Coker wants an arm and a leg for their replicas.... akirby
Hankooks are good tires - nothing to worry about there.
YT90SC
Price point to quality, Hankooks are probably one of the best values out there.
FloridaMatt
2016 Edge. At 28K the Hankooks (rotated at 10k and 20k) were down to about 2x the height of the wear bars. That's as worn down as I'll risk driving on in Florida's rainy season. Replaced with Continental Crosscontact LX20's. They're quiet & comfortable. ICEMAN316
Hankook tires are good. You shouldn’t have any issues with them.
