tbone
I dont disagree with any of the points made, but I would want to know what the ad agencies roll or position on that particular ad was if I was Ford.
itguy09
As much as I despise FCA and their vehicles, Jeep gets the ads right. Saw one on TV the other day - 20-somethings going to a concert, they showcased the fact they were in a Jeep, Apple Carplay, and some capabilities. It was a feel-good commercial that, had I not been averse to FCA products I'd be looking at a Jeep. Can't remember the last Ford commercial that caught the eye like that. And Ford has the most iconic of all vehicles (Mustang) to do just that. And the truck ads, FCA and Ram capture the heart even though the trucks are junk. It's a lot easier to do this when you're not a full-line manufacturer,
Trailhiker
Will Ford still be considered a "full-line" manufacturer once they stop selling cars? Subaru and Jeep (and the F-Series for that matter) are selling lifestyles. Can Ford SUV/CUVs do the same, and what would their claim to fame be? How do they want to stand out from the competition. jasonj80
Subaru and Jeep (and the F-Series for that matter) are selling lifestyles. And that is exactly how successful things are sold, this is how our product seamlessly integrates into your life and changes it for the better. Driving our car will allow you to have even more fun/protect your family/help you accomplish work.
J-150
I think Nike chooses their spokespeople, not the ad agency. Unlike many companies, Nike's marketing departmwnt acyually do their jobs. Marketing is their #1 expense. Of which they carefully select the players they will be associated with. The agency doesnt do this for them. They do it themselves.
