Battery capacity for Escape PHEV should be the same or similar to Kuga PHEV in Europe. Kuga PHEV battery is rated 14.4 kWh, 48 Ah.

Heard today that there won't be a PHEV Escape for 2021.  Anyone know other details?  Is the Escape PHEV canceled entirely now?

Not cancelled, just delayed.  Problems with the European version.  The battery manufacturer shipped bad batteries which can overheat and cause a fire.  The U.S. PHEV Escape was delayed until the problem is rectified.

This is the Escape 2020 that has been delayed. The problem with the Kuga is solved now.

Is it safe to say the delay is indefinite right now? I previously was under the impression the delay was to 2021 MY, and orders were being accepted. But something seems to have changed this week, as I'm now being told by a dealer it's not possible to order at all.

Yeah, Ford is now saying May Job 1 for plugin. The date keeps slipping like the Bronco.
