Historically speaking, Ford typically doesn’t offer its special X-Plan pricing – which is typically reserved for customers that aren’t Ford employees, but folks that are extended family, friends, or suppliers – on its more desirable models. This was previously the case with the Ford Bronco – though the rugged SUV just became eligible for X-Plan pricing earlier this month – as well as the Ford F-150 Lighting, which hasn’t been offered with that special pricing since it launched for the 2022 model year. However, that’s no longer the case with the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning, it seems.

According to a Ford document that has been circulating online about the current slate of Blue Oval models that are eligible for X-Plan pricing, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will in fact make that cut for the new model year – which won’t be the case with 2022 or 2023 models, however. X-Plan is just one of several special pricing plans that Ford offers select folks, including  A-Plan (Ford employees and their immediate family members), Z-Plan (retired Ford employees and surviving spouses), and D-Plan (Ford dealership employees and eligible family members).

This change can undoubtedly be attributed to the fact that demand for the EV pickup has waned considerably in recent months, which prompted The Blue Oval to cut its planned 2024 Ford F-150 Lighting production in half, as Ford Authority reported last month. However, that’s just one of a handful of changes set to take place for the new model year.

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat will not be available with the standard range battery – only the extended range unit – Ford is also eliminating the XLT with the 312A equipment group, meaning that this particular trim will only be available with the 311A equipment group. Additionally, the EV pickup will add an option for ActiveX seating at some point in the future if standard leather becomes unavailable, and it’s also getting a standard heat pump for 2024, is dropping Active Park Assist 2.0, the Platinum B&O Unleashed Sound System will now include a total of 14 speakers, and both the dark-themed Platinum Black and popularly optioned Flash are new for 2024.

good thing IMO...will help move inventory. IO doubt any dealers would refuse an X plan on a lightning IN stock...now on certain Broncos, that may be different as certain commodities are in short supply...Sasquatch package being one...regular wheels and tires I dont think will be an issue, we are starting to get THOSE for stock...
