NitroRichFire
I have a 2024 FORD F350 7.3gas SUPER DUTY with 888 miles on it and the A/C is out, took it to my dealer and it turns out that the A/C compressor is bad and compressors are on backorder with no ETA. Build date was February 29, 2024 per window sticker, picked it up at my dealership on March 29th, worked fine until June 15th. The sad part is there are many of these FORD SUPER DUTYs all over the U.S.A. Just Google 2024 SUPER DUTY A/C problems. FORD I need an A/C compressor like yesterday, PLEASE help us! oceanrace
This AC compressor issue is a real sticking point with prospective buyers; I am putting off ordering a truck until evidence appears that recent build dates are trouble free with respect to compressor failures. I was in a dealership in Corpus Christi last week and salesman told me they had two brand new Superduty trucks in for warranty repair to replace compressors. He said there are hundreds of compressors on back order, with no firm delivery date but likely end of August if not later. So Ford IS aware of the problem. This is not conducive to making me want to order a $90k hot-box in the middle of a south Texas summer. Personally I think Ford should step it up and do what it takes to fix these thousands of 2024 Superduties with bad AC compressors, including replacing all parts contaminated with metal particulate. So that the repairs are one-n-done.
7Mary3
I have been following this issue for a couple of months. It's a vendor problem, I am not sure who exactly the vendor is but it used to be Sanden that supplied most of the Ford A/C compressors. Replacement compressors are indeed on backorder with no ETA. With all the heat waves going on across the country, it's not a good time for Ford to be having problems like this.
8406Dean
My 2024 F250 Platinum was built in 2/24 I purchased in late May. I drove the truck 1800 mile and the A/c started blowing warm. The dealer said expact a compressor Sept 30th. This is really a let down with us true Ford fans. I have a $110k dollar truck I cant drive. Get this for a loaner it needs to sit on their lot per Ford in Lou of my conditioned Garage.
brush buster
I live in Corpus Christi, Tx and have a new 2024 Ford f-350 Super Duty IU just bought from Bluebonnet Ford with 700 miles on it. It was built in mid May and now the air conditioner comes on until the desired temperature is reached but the compressor takes minutes or so to come back on. If you turn it off and back on it will work again . any ideas ?
Mike S
My new F-250 A/C went out at 510 miles with a bang that sounded like a windshield getting hit by a rock. I'm sitting in the Ford dealer lounge waiting for a diagnosis. This truck was built in Kentucky on March 27, 2024. More as this develops. DJS77
I have the same issue. Build date in February of 2024. Compressor stopped working after about 1,000 miles. Diagnosed and waiting for the compressor. Oddly enough the air from my vents will at times blow cool for a few minutes with no AC on. Just the fan. I have no idea what’s going on. I urge everyone to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau vehicle department. My truck isn’t fixed but they settled with me for $1,500 and a 6 year 100k premium bumper to bumper warranty that I didn’t have. It was worth the bit of effort and makes driving around in my hot box a little better.

masaunders24
Got an appointment Sept 9th for the fix at my local Ford Dealer. He wants the F-250 for 3 days to totally replace the entire A/C system including the evaporator which requires tearing out the dash inside the vehicle. This looks like my Ford stock is going to take a big hit from A/C compressor and system replacements.
borisjohnson72
2024 6.8L, add mine to this list of no A/C 885 miles going into shop next Monday. reading this forum I don't have high hopes of a quick turn around.🤬
RMoss
2024 6.8L gas quit cooling at 3000 miles / 1-1/2 months old
borisjohnson72
just recieved a call from dealership said my A/C system was low on freon and replace it..told I should be good to go but keep an eye on it..seems a lil sketchy.? stated they had a few with bad compressors.so I would assume a pressure test would of been preformed to see where/if it's leaking.?.seems like a minimal quick fix to get it out the door rather then take proper measures to fix right 1st time and prevent a larger issue down the road. mleone
2023 F-250 XLT 7.3lgas bought in Las Vegas Aug2023. A/C compressor failed in the desert on a toasty 109 degree evening in Oct 2024 with only 7,900 miles on the truck. Compressors are all on backorder, with no est. delivery date ...problem looks much larger than Ford is admitting to! Wonder where the quality parts testing went???
NitroRichFire
Hmmm, something interesting here. Talking with my neighbor yesterday about why my F350 SUPER DUTY LARIAT 7.3 gas engine, and why it was in the FORD dealership for a month back in June of 2024. He has a new Chevy Suburban and it had the same A/C compressor issue back in August of 2024. Could FORD and Chevy be using the same vendor for the A/C parts? 7Mary3
No, I believe GM gets most of their A/C compressors from Denso. Probably just a coincidence.
ZanatWork
How interesting that these "posters" show up, and register just to post gripes about their (supposed) vehicles... ...what amazing coincidences!
HotRunrGuy
FWIW, my wife's 2024 Edge is at the dealer right now, the A/C compressor clutch fuse keeps blowing. Works for a couple of minutes after replacing the fuse, gets cold, then fails. HRG
