DeluxeStang
So I suppose this applies to cars in general, not just Ford's. Does parking on a mostly level surface without the e-brake damage/ significantly accelerate the wear on the transmission? I've heard some people say yes, and others say no, it's fine, e-brakes are mostly something you should use if you're parked in a steep incline. Here's my driveway for reference. It's hard to tell, but like most driveways, there's a mild incline to it, I'd say maybe a degree or a couple of degrees at most.
twintornados
The e-brake on my 2023 Explorer Timberline automatically engages when I put the vehicle in park.
akirby
No it won’t hurt it unless you’re on an incline and the vehicle weight is resting on the parking pawl.
ColonelColt
In my garage I don't use the e-brake...everywhere else it gets parked I do use it. I've seen vehicles that don't ever see e-brake engagement get rusty and freeze up when they do eventually get used.
