Moved the rear seat forward 3", with that it gives plenty of room for much more gear. Also added a modified and reinforced little safe for safe keeping when needed. No extra holes or modification of truck, everything can be put back or removed. There may be weak links, but not in my material or modification....the truck could barrel roll down a mountain and fly apart from the centrifugal force, but the rear seat is not budging!1 point

Mine is kind of jumpy (by that I mean lunges a bit when put in Drive and when putting in park then taking my foot off the brake it may relax into her resting spot a few inches till it gets tension on the grearing) But not really any better or worse than any other truck I have ever driven. So how far is your truck rolling? A few inches or a few feet? In park the gearing should have a positive lock from the Trans to the axle...it is either not falling into gear 100% (adjustment), or you have some serious trans gearing/ shaft issues (not good). Tq conv forward is not an issue, clutches in the rear could be shot but you would see that while driving/pulling. Have anyone around with same similar setup of a truck you can compare. Getting a feel from drive to park, for sound/distance/feel of the shifter? Either way it's going to end up being a warranty issue covered, but downtime for your truck....that sucks! Always hated having a new or rebuilt (or large repair) transmission on my vehicles because they never work as smooth as the factory one that originally came with the vehicle... I have always done my own transmission work/rebuilds on the older stuff (Muncies, power glides, th350/400s, Saginaw, ect ect) But this new stuff is WAY out of my league! The Trans bench would have to go from 6ft to 25ft???1 point

No doubt. As I said before, Farley was pursued by Mulally as he was perceived as a marketing genius-at least I think that was the reason. Along the way he convinced Bill Ford he was the solution to Ford's problems-as did Hackett before him. Again, seems to me Farley has bet the farm on an all out EV future, and that made him look good to the financial media ... As for the recent "press call", seems like a lot of BS and I would like to see someone make a logical summary of all of that BS. No Kool Aid please, just a concise summary that this dumb old blue collar guy who flunked out of engineering but managed to get a business degree will understand. Again, something that jumped out of that "call" was the statement that while the electric 150 is such a success, the majority of the people that are shelling out big numbers for that vehicle are first time pick up buyers-not the base that made the 150 the number one selling vehicle for how many years? And while we will see another big cut in manpower to "cut costs so the ICE side of the business can continue to fund the success of the EV side", everyone thinks the F1 rabbit hole makes a lot of sense at this critical time?1 point

Sounds like an exciting end to the trip! glad it all ended up well. Thanks for the info on the truck. We'll eventually have a 700 mile trip from Iowa to Denver if it ever gets delivered (it's a '23). I'm anxious for it to happen. Bummer to hear about the headlights. I know that you can get aftermarket LED lights, but I think they're pricey. I'll have LEDs, so I'm hoping they're good. Have fun with your truck!1 point

The ride quality is actually great, and I was concerned about this as I had driven some older ones and they were pretty harsh. I never once had driver fatigue and could easily drive on for hours. It got very interesting when I got to Portland. After 6 hours of sitting in the same 500' spot on i5, I convinced some big rigs to split apart and ended up scooting between semi's/cars on the freeway, going over a median with 8"+ of wet snow. I have to move barricade's, drove over downed trees and garbage can lids wiggling my way through downtown Portland to essentially bypass the i5. I ended up on, with a group of trucks following me, on I suppose a spur road where I could see i5. Once i5 was clear I hopped back on and 75MPH the rest of the way home. Ended up, at 22 hours straight in the seat. Was tired, but never felt I didn't have enough truck. It was a scene out of the walking dead with dozens and dozens of folks that had abandoned their cars from either being wrecked or ran out of electricity/gas and started walking. I offered to help a few but most seemed to know where they were going. Crazy! Some pics in the first few minutes. No pulling in groves UNLESS they were super bad in which I'd scoot over a lane. This happen in one spot I can think of pulling up out of a canyon in California. My tires are the traction M/S traction tires. They are pretty meaty. Now for mileage. At 75 I would get 16-17mpg, but if I slowed it down to 65mph I can pull almost 20 on the freeway. So speed matters. At 65MPH, it's pulling 1900 RPM. Truck also has an ECO mode I tested and honest I didn't see a huge change other than it flattened throttle response. One interesting thing is I ordered my truck with the adaptive cruise and when you are going down the freeway, if you turn on the turn signal the engine immediately changes tone and comes to life, turn the blinker off and it stops. It's like the truck knows you MAY be about to pass a car. Turning radius is just CRAZY compared to my last few Super duties. THAT is about my favorite part. The sound system in this thing is badass for a factory system. Some things I don't like? Tailgate release is a button. I want a lever, period. I like the power release, but still want a handle to pull. Next would be the bed camera. Why the hell can't I engage the bed camera when moving. Seriously, what's the point as if I'm sitting still, I'll go have a look myself. This is dumb but I'm sure it's to protect the world from idiots. Lastly headlights. It is offensive to be that on a $85K truck that it is even possible to have shitty terrible headlights. I mean BAD. So for any who read this. ORDER THE UPGRADED HEADLIGHTS period. Forget what it costs, do not screw yourself out of visibility. And yes, I can squint 20/20 so I have great eyeballs. Ford shoulf be ashamed and honestly, I should have known better.1 point

Not a fan of the kick up, but I could live with it personally. But with the US Explorer, the L just wouldn't be needed here. We need an Edge replacement. I'd like to see a mid-sized ICE CUV continue for awhile yet in the US.1 point

Those used a different way to heat the windshield vs the ones currently in use on European Fords. Those used a coating that was heated and were 5-10% of the vehicle cost. Launched on the Taurus. The new ones heated windshields are comparable in cost to a regular windshield replacement. Most 2019+ Fords already use a heated section for the frontal safety system camera to have clear view already.1 point

As frustrating as this is for those with orders, this is a good sign that Farley is serious about making changes. In the past this would have been a fix it later situation.1 point

Louisville closure extended to March 6, 4th consecutive week; good news is that software issue with instrument cluster is solved: https://www.autonews.com/automakers-suppliers/ford-extends-downtime-louisville-assembly-until-march-6?utm_source=daily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20230224&utm_content=article3-headline1 point

After almost exactly a year, it is safe and sound in my driveway after a 1,750 mile drive home. Performed flawlessly. Even got stuck in the massive Portland snowstorm yesterday for 7 hours and tested all the 4wd systems. One interesting thing though is there was a production error (I think) because it has the 5th wheel prep package and I didn't order it and it's not on the sticker. Pretty strange. Anyone else have this happen? Not complaining. On Edit: Included The 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package is standard on all F-450 models. I guess I was confused because I was looking up F350's as well.1 point
