STOOPID! In my opinion before anyone is allowed to get a license they should at least be certified in operation and maintenance of a vehicle. They really do make it too easy for idiots to drive!

It's a game changer alright. It helped reveal Toyota for the junk it really is...

Some time ago I finished off the front end of the Mustang based Ranchero... I always liked the 1977-79 Rancheros... It was very easy to ceate your own Thunderbird version of one by swapping out the interchangable nose panel, grille and hood. Changing the fenders to the Tbird specific ones was optional.

Has anyone ever cleaned their headlight lenses?
Watchdevil replied to RangerM's topic in Ranger Forum
Follow the directions closely for those auto part store headlamp restoration kits. They really work! A coworker of mine with a 2001 Mazda Tribute recently cleaned her lenses all by herself and they look like brand new. I seen the before and after and it was amazing! Check out this link: Headlamp Restoration -

Grandma trades her Grand Marquis for a Mariner!
Watchdevil replied to Watchdevil's topic in Escape & Kuga Forum
Remember way back in the day when the blue hairs bought Falcons? They were afforable, more efficient and compact. That senario is similar today where there is now a shift to smaller more efficient cars with just enough value, room and comfort without captaining a yatch. -

Not much if they are trading to a coffin! Ask any police department.. They are the most loyal return buyers... Either way old cars end up as cabs, donked out with 20"+ rims or in the hands of control freak sheriff impersonators... -
Grandma trades her Grand Marquis for a Mariner!
Watchdevil replied to Watchdevil's topic in Escape & Kuga Forum
Maybe granny might also like an ice blue Mustang convertible with parchment interior! Complete with parking assist and lane drift warning feautures... A new first for the industry is bi-focal windshield glass... Oh yeah and in place of the analog gauges, a giant digital MPH readout on one side and fuel gauge on the other... And Sync for the elderly... "Play Artist Lawrence Welk"... It also includes a friendly voice reminder to take medication.... -
I just thought it was interesting today that I seen a senior white haired lady driving a brand new ice blue Mariner. I was thinking to myself even Grandma don't want a Grand Marquis anymore!

It seems like a total waste to create and invest in new brand equity for something that has a short lifespan. However, it remains to be seen if buyers prefer the brand equity of the Explorer name over something newer like the Flex. The Explorer image may be a little tired and stale at this point... It may also carry a stigma of being thirsty and too trucklike which is what buyers ae moving away from.

A Mini Cooper for big fat families! The Maxi Cooper! It has taken so long for this vehicle to come to fruit that it doesn't even seem new anymore... The front end always reminds me of the Ford Fairmont wagon...

Cool High Speed Mustang Drawing
Watchdevil replied to Mark B. Morrow's topic in Photos, Photoshops & Videos
It's awesome when someone can draw to make car appear lifelike as if they took a picture of a real one. I always wanted to be able to draw good enough to be a car designer. -
I like it!

Bring Back The Thunderbird (Mustang derived)

I like where these chops are going! -
The Bullitt style wheels were a deciding factor for buying my Pony. I wanted that classic look and I really didn't want to settle for the "deluxe" look of the standard 16" wheels. The Bullitt wheels and the rocker stripes make the car for me. This is the very first car I ever owned where I got the wheels I really wanted without wanting to change them or just settle living with what the car came with. In 2006 Ford had the nerve to install five spoke wheel covers on the Mustang. They looked just like something from Auto Zone and they were quickly dropped from the standard equipment list.

Bring Back The Thunderbird (Mustang derived)

Okay I am re-running the MessengerBird... Now that we are talking about roadsters again... It would look related to the Mustang without being a badged engineered sheetmetal sharing version of one. I would refine some details to make it more Tbird-like, but I do like the classic Bullet Bird nose and this really hints at how a modern version may work . It just needs a restyled grille intake that perhaps is not split in the center. -

Okay utb i give you credit for good photochop skills.... However it looks like a sad depressed fish that's ready to start floating belly up.... Also a strange mish-mash of lines and strange downright ugly side sculpture that looks like some fantasy kit car from the 1970's.... I do like the grille emblem... -
Eww... no not a Cougar... However it would make a nice Tempo/Topaz Coupe revival...

What doesn't make sense is why Ford would keep the sedan version from recieving the same attention. Chevy decided to make a Cobalt SS sedan and Volkswagen has included the GTI four door and Jetta GLI sedan as alternatve to the GTI 2-door. It's stupid to not appeal to those who prefer the accessibilty of two extra doors.

You mean this one? "Would be" not "are"????

You know I was being sarcastic about putting kinetic deign cues on Grandma Vicky... right?

I'll agree with you there Richard! Those designs are so clean and timeless they always look fresh. Much car design today is so fussy and some designs today are just downright gaudy and ugly, not to mention that many of them just look like variations of the same design with different grille and badges without any true individuality. To me the new Masaratis look like they went through a Japanese design studio. I suppose I chose my new Mustang because of the timeless design that ever goes out of style... Some things are changed here and there for modern surfacing, manufacter methods, safety and other things expected of a modern car nowdays. However most of the essence of the original classic models is there without resorting to garish out of character design that looks dated in a short period of time.

What the heck is a Fairmont Squire?
Watchdevil replied to Roadrunner's topic in Rearview Mirror (Discontinued Ford Products
Things could be worse: 1991 Ford Falcon... We will be happy to send Brazil the tooling of the Crown Vic at any time! Oh wait Brazil has internet. Now they don't even want the Crown Vic.... -

Oh yes indeed. And they also did a restyled variation of the Gran Torino Elite (which was a badge and grille engineered Ford version of the Mercury Cougar which itself was a dolled up Montego coupe) and called it a Thunderbird. And later the Fairmont/Zephyr was restyled into a Granada/Cougar as luxury companion models for 1981-82. The it was restyled again for the mid-size 1983-86 LTD/Marquis. -
Damn I was getting all excited about a new Mercury Bobcat for a moment.... LOL!
