  1. I think its utter crap that BSP has people laid off to the street, while WHSP has 25 or 30 LTS working now. With WHSP closing in 2 years, it seems to me like the perfect scenario to bring the laid off BSP people to WHSP. Let them have RTBU rights. And when WHSP closes, its about the same time BSP will be ramping up some new work and jobs, the BSP people can go right back home(along with a few WHSP transfers probably too). Why the international would allow senority member to be laid off to the street, while there are temps working in a plant those members could go work at, is unbelievable and flat out wrong.
  2. Well thats the point. I heard they were told go to lap or youre done with ford. They are aready almost out of tap credits now.
  3. Did a bunch of people get permanently forced out of zone to LAP? Isnt BSP going to need people in a year or so? Will those forced have RTBU?
  4. And dont forget, Walton Hills Stamping is a sinking ship. In 2 years they will be dead in the water too. I certainly wouldnt make it my choice to go to if I could avoid it.
  5. Any chance that we see this car here in the states?
  6. I know first hand that buffalo stamping, who is the direct supplier to oakville, is planning on adding 211 jobs in the 2013ish timeframe. Which is a pretty decent workforce increase from their present numbers. Makes me think there is something planned for oakville.

    OAC News

i think he is wondering about more long term, "big picture" type of info.
  8. I think it will be a couple years until kcap will be taking people. ?
  9. plus twin cities assembly is due to close up shop in about 5 weeks.
  10. 9 people from whsp to Avon starting in 2 weeks. And some from Sandusky (15ish?) to report also.
  11. no i think the number is more like 12-20 to avon from whsp
  12. I know the thing isnt very easy on the eyes. It just looks like a pick up with a big camper shell cap on the back.
  13. I HEARD THERE IS A POSTING AT SANDUSKY AND WALTON HILLS FOR MY PLANT. I WAS PSYCHED TO HOPEFULLY GET SOME OF MY PEEPS OVER HERE FROM THE HILLS BUT THEN I HEARD THE BAD NEWS. IN THE NEW LANGUAGE LAID OFF PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO TRANSFER FIRST BEFORE THE SENIORITY PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING. I COULDN'T BELIEVE THE NEW LANGUAGE, HOW DO THEY AGREE TO THIS??? THEY BASICALLY SAID SENIORITY DOESN'T MEAN A THING. THEN TO ADD SALT TO THE WOUND I HEARD AT THE SHIFT MEETING THE WALTON HILLS CHAIRMAN HAS BEEN FIGHTING FOR THE PLANT TO BE LOOKED AT AS SURPLUS (I.E. SANDUSKY) AND THE IUAW SAID IT WOULD HAPPEN, BASICALLY OPENING THE BIDS TO EVERYONE IN PLANT. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN AND NOW BASICALLY MY PEEPS ARE PLAYING SECOND FIDDLE TO THE SANDUSKY PLANT, WHICH WILL SIGN UP TO GO NOW THAT WHSP IS IN THE PICTURE IN ZONE NOW. MY FRIEND AT THE HILLS IS TIGHT WITH THEIR LEADERSHIP TEAM AND THEY CAN'T BELIEVE THEY POSTED THIS BEFORE BEING PUT ON SURPLUS STATUS. SORRY FOR MY PEEPS AT THE HILLS, I THOUGHT I'D BE WORKING HAND-IN-HAND WITH EM. HOPEFULLY SOMETHING POPS UP IN THE FUTURE, MAYBE AFTER THE BUYOUTS, AND YOU'LL GET A CHANCE TO COME. IT'S A SHAME BECAUSE SANDUSKY HAS HAD NUMEROUS TIMES TO COME HERE AND HAVE WAITED IT OUT AND NOW WITH YOU GUYS IN THE PICTURE THEY'LL GET TO COME AND SNUB MY HILLS PEEPS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT LAID OFF WORKERS HAVE MORE RIGHTS TO TRANSFER IN ZONE THAN THE SENIORITY PEOPLE. MORE, MORE, MORE BAD NEWS FOR WHSP, ALOT OF GOOD PEOPLE OVER THERE. ]
  14. Youre wrong and ill tell you why. The senority worker should have first shot at any openings. Then the laid off worked can then be called back to replace the transfered worker. In this case, whsp is set to be closed in a year or 2. So is it right that the low senority worker gets first shot at a transfer to another facility with a future, while the higher senority member is stuck at a dead end plant? Senority should rule, always.
  15. I care about salary woes exactly the same as they care about mine. Which is none.
  16. I am a college drop out. I make over $50000 a year to make car parts. I feel fortunate to have such a job. I vote yes..
  17. I work at walton hills so I think you can assume we are all no's here.
  18. Lots of BS in that review. Except i think I do agree that the price premium to get less motor is a bit absurd.
  19. I agree with biker on the fusion going to kcap. The original rumor was the new full size transit was going to go to kcap. But I think now they will be putting the transit into ohap. I think these plans may have been in place for some time, but "helped along" as a result of the contract negotiations with the uaw. OR, I could be 100% wrong haha.
  20. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/15/slide-presentation-confirms-ford-e-series-being-nixed-in-favor-o/ are you sure about that?
  21. Considering the fact that you're not allowed to talk about diesels or the ranger on these forums, im surprised the thread hasn't been locked down yet.
  22. I'm an emplyee. And I tell you, the general mood on the floor is a positive one. Not a " grab the pitchforks and torches and let's strike and burn this mother&$?$&@ down". Despite what you may read in the employee forums( they definatly don't represent the majority btw), most of us just want to keep working and for Ford to stay profitable. We all understand that the days of yearly raises are probably behind us. We live in this world too, we understand it's rough economic times and we have zero interest in adding fuel to the fire. We just want to keep working.
  23. So i just took a quick trip around the internet, and the vast majority of people (on the car sites) were looking forward to the 7 seater. Much disappointment on this one.
