I dunno, it seems most new sedans coming out these days are pretty damn gaudy or even ulgy looking....the Accord and the new Malibu are two good examples...Ford's stuff isn't that bad, except the new Focus

I think part of the reason that the LX cars sell so well is that the rest of Chrysler's car lineup sucks! They dont even have a small sedan on the market for crying out loud!

While I do like the styling of the Fusion, it rips off/borrows too many elements from a 2002 Accord. If you look at the rear 3/4 view of the car, they are nearly identical esp if the accord has aftermarket tail lights

Throwing this topic off track totally..the new Focus sure isn't the best looking small vehicle that Ford has produced..... Anyways, should be interesting what they do with Mercury..maybe they'll just have a couple products and be more or less a higher trim level then Ford, but Ford won't be held back in options department because of this.

Well hopefully with the introduction of the Fiesta to the North American Market, the Focus won't have to be stuck with crappy interior materials like it has now.

I like the idea of giving performance bonuses instead of them just handing them out, makes the worker feel they are more of a part of the solution...as long as they don't feel like they are getting screwed over in another way...

Is just me or have most new car releases from most car manufactures been pretty ugly? The Accord, Sebring, and now the Malibu aren't lookers in at all..the Malibu looks over wrought in the front end. And people complain about the razor bar grill in the Fusion...LOL Wow that grey interior is just horrible! So much for the show car interior....

Well I guess they came to an agreement sort of the same way that Ford and Toyota battled over the LS and T/F-series names

I've read something similar, but if you really think about it, the only US produced cars are the Mustang, Taurus and Focus...all other products besides trucks/SUV's are made out of the US. As for the 08 Focus bringing costs under control...no way, reduced them maybe...but they didn't find a magic wand to fix that big hole. I'd assume it will be taken care of when the C2 gets to the US and Canada. The low cost plant was nixed from the rumors I've been seeing. Wixom could be brought back if they consolate 2 plants there, like if they did RWD there, Mustang, Explorer and new RWD sedan could make it very profitible, but what do you do with STAP?

I don't get what your saying here..the Lambdas are a totally different class of CUV vs the Edge. Even though the Edge did bad in Comaros...its still the best selling CUV on the market...in any class..

Goes both ways...you can crash two b-sized cars together and they'll do fine, put an expedition in the mix and well you screwed if your in a b-car... But I think crash ratings are overrated to a point...if its your time, its your time

Ok I was inspired by the MKZ getting replaced by the huntsman (which I find idiotic anyways, but anyways) Here we go: The MKZ stays on the EUCD2 Platform or CD3 or whatever for the foreseeable future The MKS: This could change, there has been rumors of Ford moving the Taurus to a RWD platform in 2012..but for arguments sake, lets say this doesnt happen since Flex is a big hit and D3 Taurus Sales pick up..and the MKS stays F/AWD The MKR: Huntsman based, shared with a Future Ford RWD car. Using the show car as its intended direction, I get this feeling that the car would be alot more sporty then the MKS...but if the Taurus does move to RWD, well MKS could become the MKR Continental: Lengthened Huntsman platform. Serious Luxury car...think Lexus LS or BMW 7 series, but starting at high 40-low 50K price range and tops out at 65K or so. The big variable is with the MKS and MKR...and if Ford decides to keep a large FWD/AWD and RWD plaform. We know the Huntsman is coming, but what is the justification for keeping a large FWD Platform around if they do? The only thing I can come up with is the Flex and Lincoln Flex, but they will only sell about 75K between the two of them a year.
