  1. As for everyone complaining about the timing, it boils down to candace of product launches, the new Falcon just debuted and we'll have a refreshed Mustang out by this time next year. The Panther will be around till 2010-11 time frame (doesn't need ESC after 2010?) so a 2011 launch for a new RWD car isn't out of the realm of possibility, and thats only 3 MY's from now, a lot closer then you think...
  2. I've seen a few, but your personal observations aren't indicative of the market as a whole. The thing is that Hatchback and Wagon sales made up less then 20-30% of total Focus sales, as broken out by product ordering guide that dealerships got.
  3. And since when did they make a Mini Cooper Sedan? Your wants in a car aren't excatly what the car buying public wants either...
  4. No your just a trolling jackass that brings absolutely to the table here...your just a waste of bandwidth
  5. So when can I get a Camry with AWD?
  6. The biggest problem with that 86 Cougar interior is that it will dry out and crack really bad. I remember seeing my 86 Escort GT in 1998 and the dash looked like a 50-60 year old woman who spent a little bit too much time in the sun...
  7. I had a Cobalt rental last November (was a brand new car) and I thought the interior was pretty decent in it and much better then some of the horrible plastic interiors from GM in the mid 1990s. The HHR I had last summer had the last dash, but it had a horrible 100 girt sand paper texture on the upper dash that wasn't on the Cobalt...
  8. pretty interesting, the styling isn't bad at all, I guess this something based off a C1?
  9. The Interceptor and MKS where based on a modified Mustang platform that isn't made to be produced easily. Mullally put out that there would be no more pie in the sky concepts that would never see the light of day
  10. That's the whole thing, its not a Minivan, its a small courier Van. There you go assuming again...Ford is going to destroy the value of a product that starts in the 20s range to dump them on fleets, when they got a cheap/realible platform in the Transit Connect that can do the same thing that doesnt affect the retail side of the house, since 90% of TC sales will be to business/retail fleets (not rentals!)
  11. Didn't know that Armani made llamis!
  12. I'd be also willing to bet that the TC is "tougher" platform better suited for this type of work vs Sienna or Chrysler minivan
  13. huh? 1995 Contour 1994 Monedo nearly identical outside front end clips The Monedo was improved to fix the rear seat issues but that was long after it was stop being sold in the US
  14. You can't polish a turd, don't give the any ideas of grandeur
  15. Interesting you can get AWD on it also...must be a total pig with AWD and a 1.5L I4 in it
  16. Global Rear wheel drive Replacement for the Panthers/Oz Falcon and a short wheel base version for the Mustang
  17. They also have a goal of being bigger then Toyota by 2018 in total auto sales!
  18. What an alternative at 4.50 a gallon for say 20% increase in mileage
  19. Not at all, but then again the Ranger isn't setting much in the way of sales records either... There might be a market, but I think people want more of a swiss army knive when it comes to a car then being limited by a car with 2 doors and next to no interior storage space for when you go food shopping.
  20. Edison is long gone, they are planning on making a Mall/housing on the site...LOL
  21. Well thats the problem with it, I'll admit its interesting, but it just being a 2 seater will kill off most interest from your avg Car buyer...just look at what happened to two door SUV's in the 1990's...they where nearly all gone by the end of the decade. The car is Practical, yet very unpractical at the same time. I think the loss of any rear seating isn't off set by a having a bed in the back. If they can sell 10-15K of them of a year...you might consider it succesful, but otherwise I wouldn't.
  22. I dunno, I dont see this being a huge success, I think its going to bomb
  23. Ford doesnt have huge expecations for the Flex, maybe 50-70K a year. The MKT won't even come close to selling that many
