The idea that these alternative transportation devices and green technologies are going to save the US is so silly. Sure we may do the engineering and design but its always going to be cheaper to build these things in China, India or Mexico. Its the usual coarse of business. Design, engineer and produce the 1st prototypes in the US and then maybe the first run units are built here then its all shipped overseas for cheap labor. Its a global economy and those with the cheap labor and favorable trade deals will always win.

Any experience with the Jasper Ford Lincoln Mercury? I'm thinking of buying in the somewhat near future and am new to the area.

Love the new dash, the IP does look nissan-ish but they where not original either... The deep seated 3 pod layout appeared in the 72-80 mercedes s-class. I am glad that Ford decided to go with a much more modern looking sloped center console!

The 04 was still under warranty (original) at the time of the problem but I would imagine that after 5 years and how many miles 100K? This is a regular maintenance issue that you will have to pay for. If the coil(s) are bad enough they will throw a code though not a check engine light and any scanner will tell you exactly what cylinder is mis-firing and thus replace that coil. Autozone etc will do this for free. Super easy to replace, remove cover unbolt cop unplug cop pull out. reverse for installation.

Unless they (GM) did some major grill redesign it would look like a pontiac-ish grill without the upper grill in the hood part and if they took out the bar connecting the bow tie it would look similar to a caddi. IMO. So I guess we will be stuck with this rhinoplasty job gone awry. Guess Gm is out of good ideas (not that they have had many) for interiors and decided to follow the new domestic leader Ford. Only complaints I have at the moment is the seat controls are not on the door. That would be a nice touch to further set Lincoln apart from Ford. YEAH for the would appear to be power tilt/tele steering wheel!

No to retro for me. I like the needles where you do not actually see the whole needle, just the part you need. See a mercedes S-class or perhaps a E-class. Would have posted a pic but mercedes site is down. lol. well mbusa.com is down anyways.

I agree that Lincoln REALLY needs to set there gauge cluster apart. I did not like the similar looking cluster on the MKZ but for an entry level lux car i could live with it. However it is completely unacceptable for what is now basically Lincolns flagship for the time being. WAKE up Ford other parts of the car where so well executed why cheap out on the one thing divers are forced to look at consistently. I want to read comments about Lincolns precision crafted state of the art cluster.

Why does he have a back board and a stretcher is the thing? REAL hearses have rollers or a mechanism for sliding the coffin back i see no such think on this. He just push real hard and hope he does not rip the carpet? This guy is either a real cheapskate or is pulling a fast one. I am going with pulling a fast one as what funeral home uses a back board?
