  1. Tell mom and pop to bring there battery operated am/fm stereo as the Versa 1.6 Base and 1.6 starting at 9990 only comes with audio system pre-wiring. LOL who knew in 2011 you could buy a car with out a radio! Oh and no "vanity" mirrors either, however it does have rear door map pockets! Oh and bring a cushion too Double-thickness foam front seats are only on the 1.8s/sl,,, If 3K more for a fiesta is that huge of a leap, go for pre-loved model of something aside of a versa.
  2. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/03/21/auto-union-looks-recover-concessions-ford-contract-talks/?test=latestnews Ford still has a lot of debt and a as yet to be seen turn around plan for Lincoln. I'm just saying this sounds about as good for Ford as $6 gas would be for the economy right now.
  3. Sure am glad they left the rear cup holders so all the "workers" will have a place to put there water bottle when being transported across the line.
  4. Fairbanks Morse also used a 10 cylinder 20opposing piston setup in there diesels fitted for certain marine applications.
  5. Why not? You'd get some new carpet in your 7 year old vehicle and new car smell for a bit. You remind me of that old guy at Spirit lake next to Mt. St. Helen's before it blew and buried him in ash alive.
  6. http://www.katu.com/news/national/116944283.html " A federal judge overseeing lawsuits against Toyota Motor Corp. for sudden acceleration problems indicated Friday that he will allow the automaker to monitor plaintiffs' access to its proprietary source code, and he proposed a number of other ways to prevent leaks of what Toyota says is the "crown jewel" of its intellectual property. Toyota: Source code is automaker's 'crown jewel'" What a joke! Code that did not originally have a brake/throttle override is the crown jewel of unintellectual property!! I think some serious grandstanding is going on! ALSO it appears the government did not really have FULL access to toyo's code like the plaintiffs are asking for. Looks like another botched government "investigation". I blame Bush! lol j/k
  7. Its part of their getting back "to the roots" campaign... j/k.
  8. I hope someone takes them all the way through and takes them to the cleaners at the same time! Burn baby burn! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/19/business/19autos.html?partner=yahoofinance "Toyota has reached an out-of-court settlement with relatives of a family killed when the Lexus sedan they were driving sped out of control and crashed, an accident that put a national spotlight on the sudden acceleration problems that later prompted the automaker to recall millions of vehicles."
  9. http://www.thefordstory.com/safety/a-suite-of-new-airbag-designs-for-ford/ "When the all-new 2012 Ford Focus arrives on dealer showrooms, it will offer an exclusive suite of innovative airbags that help customize protection in the most common frontal and side crashes. Specifically, Ford is introducing next-generation driver-side, front passenger and side airbags. The suite of new innovations includes next-generation driver-side airbag with enhanced chest protection technology. The new airbag uses a reconfigured curve-shaped tether system that pulls in the lower section to create a pocket to help lessen the impact of the airbag on the driver’s chest and ribs in frontal crashes." Pretty cool! Ford continues to lead the tech forefront!
  10. OH SNAP! Toyota knew about Lexus problem 2 years ago!!! "Toyota knew two years ago about the engine problem behind its latest Lexus recall, even changing the spring part to correct it, but did not think a recall was warranted until recently, a company official said Tuesday" My how the mighty have fallen. Whats that old saying? The bigger they are the harder they fall! Like how toyo tried to explain away the valve issue on someone else's microscopic particles! Then realized it was their faulty design and did nothing for existing owners!
  11. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/toyota-reportedly-may-recall-lexus-sedan-2010-06-30?siteid=yhoof2 Toyota reportedly may recall Lexus sedan "Toyota is considering recalling tens of thousands of units of the Lexus LS460 worldwide. The model's "engine is said to stall while the vehicle is running and may not start again in the worst-case scenario" Junk, all junk I say!
  12. I'm glad to here Ford is taking this matter very seriously and is getting to the bottom of the problem. Not sure why Ford continues to have issues when it comes to its in house transmissions on the their cars but this will help retain customers!
  13. Well, once you get to a certain higher price point I think the allure of or perhaps even the perception of fuel efficiency takes a back seat to things like power, handling, looks and intrinsic value. What Ford might want to do if they want a true competitor yet more efficient and green perceptive engine would be to build an EB V-8, the BMW 760 already has what is essentially an EB V-12 which makes a 535 HP and 550 lbs but starts at a breathtaking $137,000. The more plebeian 740i starts at 70,150 with a TT DOHC DI 3.0L I6 with 315hp. So I guess what I am trying to convey is that if Lincoln wants a true flagship sedan that competes above a well optioned Buick they better start thinking EB V-8's and rear wheel drive.
  14. The exact second I read this story on the web a Toyo commercial came on saying how safety continues to be their top priority. hahahahah Well if all their past work was a showing of their "top priority" in saftey I'd HATE to see there new initiative... Also the commercial state that all there vehicles now come with their star safety, what ever the crap that means. It like Christmas has never ended this year!
  15. This is merely the "emergency" stoping device for the thousands of possible run-away yotas. Should you find yourself unable to stop your sweet corolla s (s=sport) you where once stuck finding a tundra to get behind to honk your horn to activate the spare tire ejection device that will wedge under the front of your car lifting the wheels off the ground and provide a soft stop. Now with this valuable added option being available on Sienna's your likely to find an emergency stopping device sooner! Whey to go yota your the best!
  16. This update should keep the current audience happy (the hip and cool 60's space race retirement crowd) They will be trading in there old ones in droves.
  17. WOW! It does look like and edge front! Just another thing for the Honda fan boys to complain about: Ford copying Honda design...
  18. Hideous!!! Aside from the interior generally being bad, I do not like how they used rectangular cents in the center and round ones on the outsides.
  19. Toyo just got smeared on PBS NewsHour along with the disclaimer that toyo is an underwriter of the program. LMAO.
  20. ahh well that kinda the point of all this bashing. No other car maker in recent history has been put on such a high pedestal for reliability and safety! A year ago the toyo fan club was all smug about there "vaunted" car adn everything else is trash, trash I say! So now that we know without a doubt that toyo has hid and covered up safety defects its our turn to have our cake and eat it too!
  21. "Kudos to Toyota for having the Balls, to do the right thing!! " http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329295&page=2 Toyo fan site has some delusional members.
  22. More good news! “Truly, we think of our customers as a priority and we guarantee their safety,” Mr. Toyoda said. He was seen driving off in a black Audi, according to ABC News. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/30/business/30toyota.html?adxnnl=1&partner=yahoofinance&adxnnlx=1264809695-+42Pw7qN5IK4IjGTqGq6Dw You just can't make this stuff up! CRASH AND BURN TOYOTA!!!! No pun intended, as I do not want to see any innocent ill informed/smug/arrogant Toyota owners die. Where are all the toyo apologists in this place, its not fun without them....
