I think it's quite odd that they have not adjusted every auto price to the value of the Canadian dollar yet. The last three GT500's I sold all went to Canada.

Its not a new car, its just a re-skin, and a fucking terrible one at that. That thing's a horror show, I can't see it winning any 5-series/GS/M/E-class/CTS sales in the near future....The interior is pretty much a direct carryover.

Because they buy it a wal-mart prices with all kinds of favors from local congressmen(always in very low-income areas) so they look like a hero and get all kinds of zoning exceptions and just about every incentive to help them build cheap. Then hire workers for half-pay jobs with extended periods without benefits, none of which would fly for a domestic maker, yay. It works the same way as wal-mart. Buy cheap goods from China(not even going into the US supplier companies they bankrupted first), hire employees at the lowest prices they can, so low that they have to buy their own goods from Wal-mart, and leaving nothing else in the area for them to find other jobs. We are Japan's Mexico. And a few bucks to your local congressman is all it takes....

They wont, they have a free ride here while it lasts. If they incur legacy costs anywhere near what a US company does, they will pull out immediately. We paid for them to move their factories here, it costs less to use US workers then the added shipping costs of building them overseas(or even in Mexico).

Exactly, with full Japanese government support manipulating the currency to make sure the export/import ratio stays way out of whack(essentially imposing an 'illegal' tariff by all standard we do not reciprocate), factories built using US taxpayer subsidies, and cheap non-union American labor lowering standards for our auto workers, what the FUCK would someone pretending to be an American be so happy about? No money stays in the country, as even the dealers give them away and pay their sales staff nothing(all Toyota dealers are whorehouses), and the day it costs $1 too much they will move factories out of the US. All because people love to pay exuberant dollars for underengineered tin cans. I have no idea why we don't simply tariff every Toyota and Honda $3000 in taxes.

We were watching it at my buddys house on a 10" screen, looked pretty awesome to me :shades: I wonder how many of the whiners here have actually seen laid on display, fully dissassembled vehicles from every major brand including wheel studs, suspension perches, rear axles and ring gears, tow hooks, bed bolts, body mounts, sway bar links and the likes. How many have seen the frames layed out together both complete and sectionalized showing every gusset, weld, and stamping thickness. My guess is somewhere between 0 and 0% chance.

Agreed. I am sure he can have one custom fabricated for under $30k or so and still be cheaper then an S Class convertible by $70K. That or just don't roll the car over. Most cars have phony style bars, not pop-up systems.

For years we had the shitty, ill-fitting fiberglass hood on the SN95 mustangs, then Ford gives us a beautiful, perfect fitting razor-sharp aluminum hood, and people replace it with shitty, ill-fitting fiberglass junk, or at least put holes in it and get a stick on plastic non-functional box. There isn't any fixing anything untill you imply some basic changes to the way our government does business, without it, NOTHING will change. -Full campaign reform-all monies for the major parties campaign runs are budgeted with tax dollars, completely eliminating lobbyists(the ones who really run this country). -Flat tax- gradiant scale 9-15% depending on income, no loopholes-no exceptions for everyone making over $25k per year(no need to tax <$25k at all) and there would be more tax revenue as all the tax dodging by large corporations and the uber-rich would be collected. No more Kennedy-esque paying $200k taxes per $50million by hiding it all in offshore accounts.. -Term limits, congress/senate no more then two terms, no more 40 year runs at permanent congressman, can you imagine how many hundreds of billions Byrd has wasted over all those years alone? -Enforcing the line-item veto. If you read the 'budget' you would be sickened as to how much pork is attatched to any bill whatsoever and nobody(even now with the power enabled) is ever used. Sometimes a $2billion proposal(the part that fixes the problem at hand) can have $40 billion in pork attached(not including residual costs). And then you can at least start to have a government. Problem is congress has voted themselves into so much power they are all but exempt from the laws they tell us to abide. Damn its slow today and I type too fast.....just a minor rant. This was all brought up in the early 90s along with a balanced budget but again were immediately discarded. Citizens were actually READING the budget-if you can believe it. Now, all is well for our government and 20 minutes per hour is occupied by Britney Spears stories, sleeeep good citizens, go back to sleeeep....we have everything under control. Talk about global warming and education spending, don't worry, we'll fix it.... It always amuses me that Democrats run on the exact same 'problems' that they have been promising to fix 40 years ago... When you had the likes of Jack Kemp pushing HARD for flat taxes and term limits, that was the LAST time anyone tried to fix anything. I like it. They are tuning the Edges now where the SCT flash-type tunes now get it to 298hp. They also have a sport package in 08 with re-tuned springs, and this one looks lower. I leased this one and may be interested in buying something like that in 09. Personally I would prefer to do my own brake mods like a larger rotors(eradispeed 2-piece +1 kits) ceramic pads and SS lines would be plenty for that. It doesn't really say anything about engines(as I think Ford isn't all that sure what they hell they are doing with them in 2 years yet), but I would be fine with the D35 and a tune/transmission reprogram/throttle remap. Ford's newer motors are tuned rediculously safe from the factory. I think the people bitching about 400hp this and that wouldn't be buying one anyway, they just like bitching. If you haven't driven a 05+ Mustang(let alone an auto) with a good tune including the trans/throttle tweaks, it's like night and day from stock. As they come out with a few good CAI's, the curent Edge's motor can be massaged to around 300hp. And I agree, they should add the MKX's chrome mirror caps, which can be had for under $70 anyway from a Ford/Lincoln dealer. You can also get the MKX's chrome door handles(replacements not caps) for about $160 and can replace them without even taking off the door panels.

I think they look ok, and the big turn around is the Avalance, which went from friggin butt fugly to stunning, yet they don't seem to be selling well. I actually don't get that one.

Either way, they are popular here and we wiped out our entire 07 inventory of them by september, when 07 Toyotas still linger on lots...

Agree, the rainx stuff is shit. The plain old fluid works the best. And there is no way in hell I would let silicone get all over my paint. I still dont believe washer fluid will be $5 a gallon, although I get it free anyway. Funny enough is I do it backwards, the generic washer fluid makes a fantastic thinner for model acrylics through an airbrush and the touch of glycerin acts like a retardant to make for better camo jobs as the paint doesn't dry so damn fast....

Funny about the eco thing too, I believe the V8 explorer has a lower emissions rating then the hybrid highlander, and the normal PZEV Focus is lower then the Prius. I think the gas V6's from Toy have quite a bit higher polution levels then average. Although its all moot as modern cars are such a low environmental risk, population has doubled since the 70's, but polution levels in autos has been reduced to about 2% of a car in 1970. Its actually quite pointless to lower emissions on gas automobiles any more then they are now.

Agreed, you can hate on Bangle all you want(which I do liberally), and you can argue a bit about the value at retail pricing new(which I also do), but you can't say a BMW doesn't perform....Even if it's an oppinion, I can't fathom a possible logical argument to have any notion that BMW's DON'T perform. However, CR surveys are still worthless unless they at least post total collected survey #'s. Still doesn't have anyway of tracking who sends them in in the first place.

Uh, FRPP makes a drag pack, we install them in customer's cars with warranty. Roush supercharger is covered under the 3/36 if you want more, we can install those too. Not sure why a company needs to build a full drag car though rather then just getting a BIW. Someone track how many they sell each year at Dodge. Something tells me, barring a shop class accident, one hand will cover it.
