  1. From the stuff I see that presents itself on Amazon when I do a generic product search - It seems American Consumers like the Chinese version of every single thing they buy...
  2. Simple solution; Make the very same Escape look Asian with all those angles and body creases...if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Give the consumer what they want - to look like everyone else.
  3. It actually looks very nice, it just doesn't look like everything else in the class (which all look much alike).
  4. Apparently "yes" >$90K no problem for the first group of buyers... https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1129318_the-92-010-ram-1500-trx-launch-edition-sold-out-in-3-hours
  5. It's such a shame -the Escape. The vehicle that for all purpose 'invented' the now hottest segment in auto sales, languishes in the basement close to last place...
  6. Ranger is so solid - massive potential for cool variants to take on Tacoma, fun colors and trims, large off road tire options - c'mon Ford, what are you waiting for?
  7. I don't see a problem. The very largest popup campers, with side pull outs come in at just about 3500lbs. The largest off-road, lifted versions of popups are lighter yet 3000- 3300lbs. A nice mid-sized modern popup, standard or off- road, can easily be <3000lbs with everything you need and more. The Wrangler/4Runner crowd here in the Mtn West are all about those roof mounted tents. See a lot more of that set-up than Wranglers pulling RV's. Anyone trying to pull >3500lbs over the Continental Divide (10k-12k Ft above sea level) really needs to be using a well equipped truck.
  8. Really nice! Congratulations! Love the real color 'red' and the bright wheels. Not a fan of the black wheel look popular at the present.
  9. This is a great idea! Couple goes to Ford Store One wants a Bronco, other wants to be at Toyota looking at 4Runner - 'cause that is what all the neighbors drive. Both see Explorer FX-4 - and like it 'cause you would have to be crazy to think the 4Runner is better looking. Cool 'off road' more aggressive appearance satisfies both. Couple drive off Ford lot in FX-4 instead of to Toyota to be convinced to buy the 4Runner.
  10. I thought I read here years ago that American Pickers was Ford product placement advertising (excellent placement choice). Like all the Dodge--- pardon me, 'The Truck Formerly Known as Dodge' trucks the Dutton family drives in Yellowstone, and Master Chief Jason Hays' nice GMC in Seal Team - there was a virtual GMC tailgate commercial in one scene this past Wednesday.
  11. I suppose you refer to the late Prince by his official changed name "The Artist" while the rest of us still just say: 'Prince'. And be sure to tune in this fall to the NFL and 'The Washington Football Club' Gosh, all the worlds problems are surly saved by that!
  12. Apparently, this is why every van I see is a Sprinter or a Dodge.
  13. This is why I continue to debate, to much dis-agreement by many, that Asian producers operating in the USA are simply not 'American'. Can't understand why our energy sources continue to be at the mercy of foreign issues. All my life 'foreign oil' was the biggest problem we faced. Now we are mercy to foreign solar panes and foreign batteries, what makes us think that is going to work out any better?
  14. Haven't seen this mentioned, sorry if I missed - anyone else see a tad of International Scout DNA in this new Bronco? I see it and and I love it! Great old vehicle to grab some inspiration from. Maybe most here don't even remember this vehicle existed...
  15. Love everything - Great Job! Total game changer for Ford. Please tell me there is an option for something other than all blacked out wheels. I know it is the 'modern' trend but I still like the old school brighter alloy.
  16. That guy behind the wheel has a way better job than me!
  17. The article is referring to 'standard surgical masks' when most people are wearing a piece of cloth that grandma made from an old tee shirt or sun dress with pony tail ties, or one of these made in China masks from the rack at Target. Nobody would ever argue that real 'medical grade' equipment is not effective, but that is not what I see out there. Typical warning printed on the label right near where it says: Made in China: Mare not designed or intended to prevent, mitigate, treat, diagnose or cure any disease or health condition, including COVID-19/Coronavirus. Masks are intended for general public use only. They are non-sterile and are not intended for use in any clinical or surgical setting or where exposure to bodily or hazardous fluids may be expected, where the risk of exposure through inhalation is high, or near intense heat or flammable gas. Masks are not surgical masks, personal protective equipment, or filtering respirators (such as N95 masks).
  18. Anyone else listen to the entire July 3rd Mt Rushmore speech from POTUS? Near the end, the the president verbally cited the "F-150 and its toughness" as one of the examples of products that the USA should aspire to again manufacture. The F-150 by name, was cited right after the '"Saturn V Rocket". That is some pretty awesome company to be compared to! Not sure how Ford pulled off that product placement, but the South Dakota red audience loved hearing 'F-150' and cheered loudly! I can only speculate that Trump, while often coming off as a jerk, is a pretty loyal guy, and he might have been returning a shout-out to Ford for stepping up and helping manufacture devices during the start of the Chinese WuFlu outbreak - just a guess.
  19. This will not go over well with some here - Was picking up something I needed the other day at local Target. Came up on the large display of masks, the style that Joe Biden is making "fashionable' with his 'Black Bart mask and aviator sunglasses style' on the rare occasion that he leaves the basement - well, I picked the product off the rack and in true genuine patriotic action looked closely at the label: MADE IN CHINA. Of course Joe, who claims he is 'tough on China; wants everyone to get one of these by government mandate. Common sense 101: When your poison and antidote come from the same place (in this case; China), you are surly getting take for a ride! The simple bottom line is, unless you are wearing a genuine US made (not a Chinese knockoff) 3M N95 mask (which is actually a highly engineered PPE device), you are wearing a wearing a filthy bacteria trap posing as a virtuous gesture signal towards those living in fear. If you choose to wear a mask, fine. Others can make their own choice. Same concept as vaccinations: If you or your kid is vaccinated, and you are sure that the vaccination works, then why should you care if someone else is not? If you are wearing your made in China mask, and the mask is working, then why should you care is someone else is not?
  20. If the swamp gets thier way -and it will happen sooner than later, say goodbye to: -Cash - much easier to keep track everyone using electronic funds, will be sold to the public as a 'convenience' and people will agree. -Private property - can't have people owning land and thinking they are entitled to defend it. Land will be confiscated using 'eminent domain' or common folks will be taxed off their land with huge tax increases to fund massive urban high density housing for all. People living in rural areas are too hard to track and control. -Electoral College - the greatest single stroke of genius by our founders, to ensure a 'republic' that is not subject to 'mob rule'. Yep, folks in northern Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota will be governed by New York and California. -Liberty - gone already - we are being ruled by 'public heath officials' who are not elected and never took an oath. Freedom of speech is gone forever. Right to bear arms is next - the Democrats are promising to take your arms come next year. - American energy - my whole life I heard that foreign energy was bad. Now we are finally energy independent and the swamp wants to make us totally reliant on Chinese solar panels and Chinese batteries. There is so much more - just the tip of the iceberg. Uncle Joe Biden, who is simply a place holder for the swamp's choice as his running mate, has pledged to "Transform America" - we heard that before.
  21. Yes, absolutely. A big V8, with the size of the motor posted on the side of the truck in the most 'in-your-face' manner possible- I'm serious. Why do you think Dodge/RAM and Toyota go so far to make sure you know what is under the hood? I read that Toyota is going with TTV6 in the next Tundra. We'll see how that works out for them because, while I'm sure Toyota will do the TTV6 right, their Tundra has been marketed as the "big bad V8' and appeals to the same guys that like the notion of a bold truck and big HEMI, but won't touch a Ford or Chevy if their life depended on it.
  22. Absolutely, positively, resounding YES! V8 and the bold look are are combination that appeal to many - yes many buyers. I hear it all the time from the old school truck conversations. Just last night at the brew pub on a hot summer night; chatting with some guys about the series Yellowstone - and all they could talk about is how 'cool' and 'badd-ass' looking those 'product placed' and advertising sponsored Dodge trucks are. Parking lot here is full of trucks, and Ford does not dominate. All the brands are equally represented - yes even Tundra out here in the west where the X and millennial generations were raised on foreign brands. I've posted it before - want to see Ford offer the 7.3 in F-150, just to appeal to this segment of the market. I know the 5.0 Coyote is a far better motor than Dodge's ancient Hemi, but the way they package and market the trucks - that big '5.7 HEMI' insert on the hood scoop - that is a big deal to that certain buyer that thinks they have the biggest and baddest.
  23. They're sizing up the competition and doing what the others are doing to save money. Do any direct competitors have the two-way window and hatch? Does market research indicate that is a make or break selling point, especially if nobody else is doing it? My old 2008 Explorer has it and indeed it is a handy feature. Has been very reliable as well for all these years.
  24. Pictures worth a thousand words - to me this looks way better than anything from Tesla, the Euro's, or Asia... Can't wait to see it in a real color.
  25. So why invite these guys and pay their expenses, treat them real nice? Ford should invite me - I've been loyal my adult life and influenced a few purchases by friends and acquaintances. Pay my way and wine and dine me - absurd right? Maybe Ford thinks some good press is a bit more important! However many customers come to Ford because of TFL, 1, 100, 1000, or more, Ford needs to grab those customers. The old fashioned mentality of F-series is number one, will always be number 1, and that is that, is what will put you in second or third place real fast. If Ford is truly the leader, they will figure out how to fix this for everyone.
