  1. It's not hard to believe packages won't be transferred.
  2. For anyone who gives a hoot, Ford Falcon 2,846 Ford Falcon Ute 1,050 Ford Territory 961 All on the one basic platform....
  3. when did that happen? Holden's CEo has just announced the Zeta Commodore stays until 2012 calander year and then merges with the Sigma/Zeta cross breed platform. Falcon is safe until 2014.
  4. The performance of a 2.0 EB makes the 3.0 V6 redundant.
  5. That's because 1,553 sales versus 764 last year doesn't sound as impressive.....
  6. Communist name but they are becoming better capitalists than the USA. The have a cheap work force and a huge middle class and are developing their infrastructure for them, 500 coal fired power plants inside the next 6 years. The amount of growth going on there until recently was staggering. Their stimulus package is starting to take effect and trade will take off again. Just don't drink their milk powder or cooking oil......
  7. I hope they sell plenty at $33K and above, that sounds like a nice profit for Ford. where's that Amarda Master.....
  8. You've never been to China, there's nothing to discuss. China holds over $8 trillion in US debt bonds which they returned to your economy to stabilize the dollar - That is not the move of an aggressor.
  9. There's some fairly big Government based infrastructure plans laid out over then next few years. The Government is expecting to be back in surplus for 2012/2013 (our financial years end on June 30).
  10. Do Ford still do research in North America? I thought they bought all their technology from Bosch and Siemens. NA DI is more a performance adder, Ford achieve similar torque with the 3.7 V6 as GM DI 3.6 but the GM V6 produces more top end power. I bet that High Pressure pump and injectors are expensive. DI is advantageous when linked to turbo charging the pair go hand in glove, everyone accepts that. while GM is floundering around with naturally aspirated DI, Ford's Ecoboost is killing them with torque.
  11. 4,300 of them in the last month alone, before that they were like 2,000 a month. I keep forgetting Americans have this notion that unless something sell 40,000 a month it's a failure.
  12. Anyone got any idea why Flex suddenly took off, advertising or grass roots presence in the community?
  13. Our economy and dollar are commodity driven and rather dependent on the fortunes of Japan and China. China's stimulus package is now flowing. coal, iron ore, natural gas and alumina are now shipping again.
  14. I liked what he said about Ford. The rest was just GM is a $50 billion job creation scheme over and over, Gobelling at its best.
  15. A lifestyle vehicle like Mustang that still pulls 8,800 sales per month in tough times is doing well. GM should wish their Camaro could do so well.
  16. Take a look at Ford and Alan Mulally, everything they do is aimed at being better than Toyota. The past three years have demonstrated what happens when the whole of Ford is dedication to one purpose and one plan.
  17. Yes you have, it's the Holden Commodore SS, or the Vauxhall VXR8. Arch nemisis of the Ford Falcon
  18. I call it GM mode, do nothing and let others carry you along.......
  19. I sense Fritz Henderson is being typically GM and saying if we do X, Y and Z everything will work out OK. How can the same bunch of executives that didn't see the need for business change and restructuring be trusted to run the new GM properly? Fundamental change has to happen at GM and unless that is done, all of this is for nothing....
  20. Toyota must be watching their inventory levels, it sounds like a punt that could go terribly wrong.
  21. Stay out of it Ford - there's plenty of free advertising going on without saying a thing.
  22. why do people talk about air fuel ratio when fuel droplet size is more important. PFI get you to about 30 microns and DI goes down to around 5 microns.... Increased surface area for the combustion reaction yields more power with the same fuel.
  23. Something for the Brits: A re skinned Mustang with kinetic styling, Falcon IRS, 1.6 EB I-4 or 3.5 DI V6. Watch them fly off the showroom floor in England and Europe.
  24. LINK For the first time in many years, the Australian Federal Budget went in to deficit for AUS$50 billion. to stimulate the economy, it looks like it worked as China starts ramping up again.
