  1. Precisely. Were not told what vehicle is the Ecoboost in.
  2. Particularly with this month's figures for large cars, Crown Victoria + Taurus + Mustang = over 20K in a quiet month
  3. That was the fall back plan for Chevrolet with the Impala - FWD for the main and RWD SS versions. Maybe a performance RWD "Falcon" badged as a Taurus - both with near identical top hats.
  4. I emailed Derrick Kuzak a couple of months ago here is his response:
  5. And your point is? Guys, I'm gonna hold off until Ford comes out with the real plan. Speculation and my imagination are going to drive this debate in the wrong direction. FoA and FNA are working together - have done for months and the guys get on really well.
  6. After Ford 2000, FNA decided the RWD groups knew best how to proceed on their own and provided help with Four separate RWD platforms - Mustang, DEW, Panther and Falcon. Probably right, just edgy at the moment. Detnews tend to put a real home town slant on things - maybe that's not so. Reading furtherinto the article, all engineering groups are adding into projects everywhere, even our new FG Falcon had EUCD Door technology courtesy of FoE and Volvo.
  7. 1. None of the North American RWD vehicles has suited our needs for years. 2. Nick, I feel FNA is about to toss everything in the crapper and come up with some awful design of their own.
  8. The car with the Victorian number plate has been around since May 07. Both definitely Right Hand Drive over for standard tests associated with Aussie products as per white falcon 12 months ago - maybe these are V6 cars for 2010 Aussie release?
  9. Extremely worried about Ford North America doing RWD.
  10. I tried PC but I couldn't squeeze a win..... Oh well, at least I can dream of american Falcons..... Aw shoot! they just ruined that too.......Ford shuffles global exec ranks Detroit is about to infect Ford Global.
  11. Toyota –2.9% at 192,791 (3/07: 213,820) Ford –6.7% at 187,828 (3/07: 216,788) Chevrolet –16.9% at 164,564 (3/07: 213,156) Honda 6.9% at 125,446 (3/07: 126,406) Nissan 3.1% at 93,100 (3/07: 97,242)
  12. Opens the door for the Verve,... err Fiesta - hope the baby car is well received could give Yaris a pop in the nose!!
  13. PC, not to take sides here but I believe a lot of the hybrids are going to fleet sales and Ford saying little or no discount on them. CD2 is pretty long in the tooth, we would prefer the Kuga but Aus is stuck with Asian Escape - twice as ugly!!!!
  14. No, No, A great car like the C2 Focus that blows a pretender to the weeds. And give it (C2) Mercury and Lincoln brothers as well, surely well off folk would love a $25K baby Lincoln!
  15. Here's some spin, Fusion + Milan + MKZ = 58,671 or 10th in front of CR-V.
  16. Good to see Ford has changed it opinion of people who buy 4-cylinders cars. Maybe when Ford builds the C2 Focus, people will start to seriously consider it in a big way like Corolla.
  17. Sounds like a plan. T6 Global Ranger replacement is still a ways of and not sure it is slated for North America. It is supposed to be in production in other parts of the world by about 2011 (2012 YM?) Given Mulally's hatred for duplication, I'd say you'll probably have an answer pretty soon.
  18. The C170-2 Focus is out of the blocks an running and will set the stage for the C2 Focus. Ford's goal with the Focus should be to emulate the Civic's 32K/month sales - something for the C2 Focus?
  19. The cost of Gasoline and Diesel is not the problem, that all gets passed on as freight costs to the consumer. The knock on effect is when food and materials in crease in price, usually far more than the hike in fuel!!
  20. It doesn't matter any more TStang because Ford makes a profit on every sale. So long as Jaguar and Land Rover keep buying Ford supplied engines, that is.
  21. Lincoln, outside of NA does not have any stigma to deal with and people view it with fresh eye. Come on Ford market them through FoE dealerships and start making some cash with MKS and MKT. FoA could do an easy MKR by making a Lincoln Top Tat for a Luxury Falcon. Ford would make more money having Lincoln in Europe than Jaguar.
  22. For the price of a Fusion!!!
  23. People spending up to $5,000 extra on a new model Malibu compared to the old one. Still think the Mondeo is too expensive? People are prepared to spend to get a quality product.
  24. Left hand drive Falcons go on sale today.....
