  1. I have seen other complaints elsewhere about this, and our Bronco is no different. Black vinyl interior, headrest forces your head forward, giving you a hell of a headache after a while. Tried flipping them backwards, but that looks stupid and is probably a safety hazard as well. The higher zoot trim level Broncos appear to have ratcheting headrests, but ours has the "cheap seats". Google has turned up nothing. My 2005 Mustang had the same problem, and the company "TMI" used to make ratcheting headrests for them, got my "TMI Headrest Ratcheting Tilt Pair 2005-2009 Item# HR3B" set years ago and it worked great! MY QUESTION: OEM Ford part number for the ratcheting headrests? Can't seem to find it online, Ford Parts resources direct me to the standard one or the rear seat headrests. Will my 2005 TMI headrests fit the Bronco? How about 2012 Mustang? I found a set of TMI ones for the 2010-2012 Mustangs that seem to fit the bill as well. Thoughts? Help?
  2. Hopefully it will be better looking than the S550! Never got excited about it, I am good for now with my S197.
  3. So what exactly is "desert rated"? I don't want to watch a video; I can read.
  4. I just signed up my 2005! :happy feet: 300 is getting closer and closer. Just FYI, I have 65000 miles. Replaced rack and pinion and a window motor under warranty. The convertible top window glass is separating from the top. THAT bad boy isn't under warranty so I am going to have to eat an expensive top soon. SIGH... Other than that the car has been flawless and fun to drive since August 2005.
  5. It's a giant xB... Same toaster-like profile and everything! How original. I don't like it. :chairshot:
  6. Hmmm... site is down. thought I would stop by and enter my input. FTR, my 2005 has had ZERO defects and ZERO problems, only maintenance issues like oil and a set of tires. This car has been wonderful for the past 50,000 miles. Great job Ford!!! :shades: And YES, my car WAS built on a Wednesday...
  7. Hideous. Absolutely hideous.
  8. I just purchased the Ford Autolamp system off eBay (it's brand new) for $9.95 + shipping. Looks like it might take a bit to install but shouldn't be too bad... just need some time. Bottom line is it CAN be done for cheep and a bit of elbow grease.
  9. I still want to see the picture of the burning Honda!! The only good Honda is one that is overturned, smashed and burning on the side of the freeway.
  10. According to a Ford dealer I spoke with today there are 181 GT500s in the state of California. Contrast that with the rest of the country - 6 in one state, 1 in another, etc.. all low numbers. Why so many in CA? ADMs that's why... Ridiculous ADMs. The stealership in Ontario, CA was demanding an even $100k for their GT500. It's still sitting there. to those greedy stealerships. I hope the car rots in their showroom.
  11. So I take it at this point Kzinti has died and is no more? Too bad, he really eased my nerves during the ordering process of my 2005. RIP Kzinti...
  12. Contact Kevin "05StangKC" Casey at Clevenger Ford - He'll do better pricing for you than the above post, which details retail cost. Check my sig, I'm a happy customer of his! He'll do you right. :happy feet:
  13. DANG! And here I was all excited that The Lemon was about to become a martyr for his "cause"...
  14. Mustang GT front end doesn't have a blank space for a plate. Mustang v6 does. Here in CA we are required to have front plates. Unfortunately.
  15. Bottom line: "Green" people need more productive things to do. Ford already meets existing CAFE requirements, puts out their fair share of PZEV, ULEV, and LEV vehicles. The greenies just don't want us to have cars at all, they want us (the unwashed public) to take the bus, and they won't be happy until that moment arrives. It makes me so unhappy I just want to go club a baby seal to feel better. Stupid greenie Communists.
  16. So was the husband having the affair or not? I have an enquiring mind and I want to know. :P
  17. Anyone who does that DESERVES to have their car stolen. What are they thinking???!!???
  18. Where the hell do you live??? How many cars can you possibly have stolen??!?!?
  19. Wow, The Lemon sure got handily spanked re: his request to air the story on his loser website... Hahahahahahaa!!!
  20. I love the car dealer who acts all innocent... How many times have we, the car buyer, seen that infamous "four square" and dueled with a salesman trying to find out the actual CAR PRICE and not the MONTHLY PAYMENT??? For me, it's ad nauseam. I want to grab the shifty salesperson by his lapels and yank him across the desk toward me so that he can hear me better to explain that I already KNOW your invoice price, I already KNOW what your holdback is, I already HAVE financing, I already KNOW what I want, so STFU and stop lying and sell me a car!! They *all* freaking LIE!! Even after you pretty much explain to the salesman how the deal is going to go down, they still try to weasel in "rustproofing", "scotch gard", "VIN etching" and other worthless add ons. AND... don't EVEN get me started on those dealers that install some cheap car alarm in the car and refuse to deinstall it if you don't buy it at their grossly inflated price.
  21. +1 on the Consumer Reports bias. I have been a subscriber to CR since the 1980s and in my recent memory I can't remember them EVER complimenting a domestic car, even when the domestic clearly outclassed the import it was being compared to. (ie, Ridgeline) As a matter of fact, I usually skip to the domestic car review FIRST just to chuckle at how badly they maul it. CR Domestic Car Review = "no win scenario." As far as the Recommendations go, you may see the red check mark that proclaims "Recommended" in a summary somewhere, but I *guarantee* that in a domestic car review you will not see the words "CR has recommended this car as a CR Best Buy" like they do in their import reviews.
  22. Hyundai = cheap? BREAKING NEWS!!!! Hahahahaa! They'll never get over the stigma of the Excel in my book.
  23. The 12 year old will have lasting impressions that will carry on until she is able to buy her own car or influence a purchase decision for one. If a 12 year old feels that a car is "stodgy" and "feels dated" they will forever associate that with a brand, since early memories are usually powerful ones. I remember Lee Iacocca on TV boasting that the Plymouth Acclaim was a better car than the Honda Accord at the time. I hate Hondas but even my hatred didn't blind me to the astounding ridiculousness of that claim. The reason I hate Hondas is that I have very distinct memories of a putrid green 1980 Accord that did nothing but break down, fart, squeal, rattle, and leak oil. Why else do you see so many younger people driving Hondas/Acuras these days and sneer at worthy domestic cars? They were probably influenced by bad eighties domestic products and our generation that migrated over to imports because we thought they were "better". In my case Honda has lost a customer in me for life due to that 1980 Accord, and also anyone that I could possibly influence to never buy a Honda. ("you want an import, buy a Toyota, but NEVER a crappy Honda"). My positive experiences with Ford when I was young has led me to buy seven new Fords and influence the purchase decision for many more Fords.
