  1. Check out Autoweek today, It says Ford will not use the Mustang name on a 4 door sedan. A concept based on the mustang will be at the Detroit auto show called Interceptor. Hey No F word name!
  2. Maybe what Ford will really do is advertise that this new car series borrows from the Mustang and carries Ford's performance heritage like the word Hemi did for Chrysler. The cars themselves aren't named Hemi, but the association is there. I'm thinking an ad saying, " born from the Mustang... the new Ford (Falcon or whatever).
  3. I suppose we only have to wait a couple more weeks or so. The Detroit auto show isn't far away now.
  4. Q: Can this man save the American auto industry. A: No. There I wrote in 2 lines a more accurate article. I like the way the press likes to make it sound like huge corporation is 100% run by one person.
  5. I hate to say it, but the Brown sedan and the 2 door coupe on the bottom aren't that bad looking, although dated. Fairmonts and Zephyrs weren't bad cars and the auto press loved them when they were introduced and they were popular cars.
  6. At least we may have an explanation for this.
  7. Shit. I expected uncamo'ed pics of the Five Hundred. Instead it's this thread from Sept. dug up again.
  8. Good time foe Daimler to say,"Buy Chrysler and you can have your shares back. " Besides Doesn't the Kia Amanti look like the Chrysler 300 anyway?
  9. Basically, Lincolns should have been cheap Jaguars instead of expensive Fords. Hence the huge investments made in Jaguar would not look so senseless at this point. Any thoughts? That was the problem. They couldn't de-engineer enough out of the Jag S-Type to sell the Lincoln at a profit because they were discounting them so much at the end. But then again, if it was updated maybe the discounts wouldn't be needed. I guess we'll see how the MKZ (Zephyr) ages to see if they can sell without extrotion level discounts.
  10. EeeeeeeK! Make it go away!... Do you think the red interior is symbolic of China?
  11. Hold on... let me hold that up to a mirror... Oh yeah, now that's what a North American interior would look like. Very nice, I like it. (but those two tiny guages on the top of the dash look dumb.) I'm sure Car and Driver magazine has a " the interior looks cheap and has tacky, cheap feeling silver plastic accents" paragraph prepared just in case this car makes it over here.
  12. It's not too ugly, it's just that the hood is so short, only a transverse mounted 4 cyl. engine would fit. 150 hp would not make much of a sport truck.
  13. Jm, your concept is better looking, but I wonder if enough air flow will make it to the engine with that thick grille. This is a hard working truck. Red Star, your truck is nice looking too, but doesn't have the "wow" factor of JM's. Your concept will probably look more like a procuction model, as the Expidition already looks like that.
  14. The Pontiac G6 is much better looking while using the same basic shape.
  15. More people bought the $180,000 GT than the Monterey minivan. Does that now classify the Monterey as an exotic car?
  16. I'm more concerned about the Five Hundred! Holy crap! :eek5:
  17. I don't know why everyone is so worked up over this. The car is so covered up with plastic tarps YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING! I don't know what this car will look like any more than I did with the last photo of it 3 weeks ago.
  18. The fun cars disappeared because they are all pounding "fun" SUVs up our... nevermind.
  19. If that's a 2008 guide, then why does the Five Hundred and Freestyle and Montego look the same as they do now. No MKS either. It looks like a 2007 guide.
  20. And Toyota's pursuit of #1 made them the #1 recall king as well.
  21. This car looks like a drawing made around 2003 of the 2005 Mustang in Automobile Magazine. also if you looke at the Feb 2003 Motor Trend at the article of the Mustang concept car, on page 46 you can see a drawing of a Mustang that looks simmilar to that car. The front end is almost the same! This is just a recycle of something they planned at one time.
