  1. The MY of the truck doesn't matter, does it? Doesn't the date the truck is produced determine the emissions regs?
  2. Good news! On the one road trip we've taken with the Mach-E, this would have come in handy. It would have saved us a stop as the Tesla chargers were right next-door to our destination, but we had to stop at an EA charger on the way home.
  3. Wow, C crew has to suck! Day shift two days, 24 hours off, then night shift two days? Yuck!
  4. Not completely true. My wife nicknamed her 2020 Escape Karen. She could be a real b*$ch with all her sensors going off when there appeared to be no need! LOL!
  5. Wait, what? What's all that stuff you are referring to?
  6. Exactly! We wouldn't have a Mach-E if we couldn't charge it at home. We've got about 2500 miles on it so far, and have used public chargers twice, both on a trip to "the city" (STL). The first charge was at a free public charger (L2, slow), the second was at a fast charger. Neither was a problem, we just had to walk a little farther to the stores we were going to. It's wonderful not having to go to gas stations, especially when it's so freaking cold out!
  7. I don't think that is appropriate for such an awesome, world-changing vehicle. If we don't all switch to electric vehicles in the next 3 years, the world will end. Sir. ?
  8. Likewise with an Escape and Corsair.
  9. Looks like it's only on the commercial vehicles, which have to be rated at a certain RPM, not the max value. They just grabbed the value at the wrong RPM.
  10. Our Escape windshield was a rock magnet. At least 3 repairs, then a replacement 3 days before we traded it (which was free because the insurance's claim system was down at that time so they waived the deductible due to our hassle). All in 28k miles!
  11. A $4500 windshield has absolutely nothing to do with what propels the vehicle. That's the stupidity of the CyberTruck! Those other issues are specific to the Rivian and NOT EVs in general. Sure, a little more car has to be taken into account to make sure the battery isn't compromised, but it's not that drastic. Our Mach-E costs a bit more to insure than the Escape it replaced. However, the sticker price is double the sticker of the Escape, so I expect the cost to insure to be higher. Kinda like, common sense, you know?
  12. I'm about 90 minutes north of Salem, but unfortunately, I don't have the time for a 4 hour round trip. Here's a Missouri sub-forum on a Ford truck forum. There's a bunch of good guys in there, and one may be close and able to help you out: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum104/ Good luck!
  13. I see no mention of the GT. Is it gone for '24? Or is that a separate order guide?
  14. Electricity is already highly regulated in most areas. Here in MO, we have to get a rate case approved before rates can be increased.
  15. It's a PHEV with a really large battery. Basically the same concept as the Volt. Which, I would think, is much simpler than a typical hybrid set up. Having an electric vehicle now, the driving experience is second to none. It's truly amazing, and gets a giggle every time I step on the accelerator. This concept doesn't eliminate oil changes, or completely eliminate gas station stops, but it's a great alternative for trucks, especially for towing. Wonder how this would work in a Super Duty. A 2.3L I4 EB sitting up front to charge the battery when you run out of juice. Would be interesting to see if it could generate enough electricity to supply the necessary power to pull 16k lbs of fifth wheel behind a Super Duty once the battery is empty. Would be a perfect solution for me if it's up to the task.
  16. Be careful with the word "owe." You may not actually "owe" the money at tax time, but you had a tax responsibility. So, if you "owe" $50, but had a responsibility of $8000, you will still get the credit of $7500. However, if your responsibility is only $4000, you will only get $4000.
  17. $4.39/gallon for diesel. $0.0922/kWh for Mach-E fuel...or free if we fill up while the sun is shining.
  18. Makes the price of our Mach-E GT PE seem pretty decent (after rebates) compared to the $52k for the Equinox.
  19. Just think what this country would be like if it were run by hardworking intelligent reasonable people like us. But, then again, those people are too smart to run for office...
  20. For the 2024 F150, the PowerBoost is a no-cost option (well, you get a credit for the option cost), so it's the same price as the non-hybrid.
  21. We live in a rural area (small town of 1400), and I am very conservative. I don't think BEVs are going to save the planet, nor do I feel they should be forced on anyone. However, the $10k off sticker was enough to finally let my (our) wants outweigh our needs and our 2023 Mach-E GT will be ready for us Monday night! We probably never should have driven the GT lol! I always wanted a Mustang, but I never thought it would be 4 door, electric, or my wife's! I must be one of the few conservatives with solar panels and an electric vehicle!
