  1. It would have to shield the customer from a lot of the internal stuff (shipped and returned offsite e.g.) and just present basic order status to let the customer know when it's scheduled, the vin number, estimated build date, shipping date and eta. That could be done very simply just by adding a web front end to the current system. The user would just enter the Vin or the dealer #/order #. Fielding the questions would be another matter, especially if an order is delayed because of dealer allocation shortages. How does Dodge do it?
  2. If it's just as good as the competition then why shouldn't Ford charge the same? If you build an outstanding product then people will buy it at a fair price. If you have to discount your vehicles to sell them then you're doing something wrong.
  3. Hand washing is always safer but I just wanted to point out that there are some automatic carwashes that work without leaving swirl marks or damage. YMMV.
  4. An expensive hybrid coupe at that.
  5. I agree - this is another place where Lincoln can differentiate and provide a superb customer experience.
  6. Could be but I don't think this styling necessarily represents the 2015 version. Looks to me like they just updated the current vehicle.
  7. Where is Jim Rogers and his baseball bat when you need him?
  8. Obviously a technology showcase and nothing to do with the new F150 styling.
  9. Let's hope it makes it out the door with no problems or delays.
  10. I use one with the soft undulating cloth strips and copious amounts of soapy water and pre-sprays. Never had a swirl mark and there is a million dollar plus subdivision nearby so I see all sorts of expensive cars including black MBs. It all depends on the equipment.
  11. Just FYI - FORD is not selling those warranties. You did not buy one from FORD you bought one from a Ford Dealer. Ford is the wholesaler and makes the same amount of money on each one regardless of how much the dealership gets for it. And if Ford is only getting $700 and making money (if they weren't they wouldn't be selling them or they'd raise prices) that should tell you the odds of you getting back your investment of $1000-$2000.
  12. Since this is a concept I expect it to have a future powertrain - 2.3 or 2.7L EB at least.
  13. Remember - it only competes with other "Trucks" that were new or significantly updated. e.g. the F150 did not qualify. So you really have to keep the competition in mind and the Dodge does have some new techy things.
  14. I think they changed the priority scheme so that retail orders must be 10-19 and dealer stock must be 20-99.
  15. I would recommend the Wheel deal for normal cleaning and a Hand Wax or Paint Sealant package twice a year if possible or at least once a year.
  16. Just a thorough cleaning of the paint with a clay bar.
  17. Nope. This is a totally different platform. Different wheelbase, width, etc.
  18. I hope not. http://jalopnik.com/5965494/tesla-model-s-trapped-in-autoweek-editors-driveway-by-defective-charger
  19. It's $100 more after the first 12 months but yes you can add it any time prior to the expiration of the 3/36K warranty.
