  1. There is a reason Ford recommends 5W-30 for some of the EB engines when they've been using 5W-20 in almost every other engine for the last 10 years. Get it changed. No excuse.
  2. That doesn't make any sense. Wolf has complete control of the design of the MKC from day one. If this thing looks anything like a rebadged Escape/Kuga then he and Lincoln will be raked over the coals and deservedly so.

    Energi or Hybrid

Fuel economy is slightly worse in depleted mode due to the extra weight of the larger batteries. 44/41/43 instead of 47/47/47.
  4. Some guy at the warehouse said "let's screw with the spy photographers"........ Probably tipped them off that the vehicle would be parked there for photos.
  5. I wasn't defending it - just trying to see what someone who doesn't understand the internal Ford process would expect. Those of us that do understand know that dealer stock will start showing up while the first retail orders are being built but the retail orders should be clean and problem free whereas the dealer stock may have been repaired. Not much Ford can do about slippage in the launch date. That's the target date but so many things can go wrong causing delays. If Ford/Lincoln had said up front that your pre-order would arrive sometime between December 1st and January 31st with a caveat that production delays could occur that could push the date out even further - would that have satisfied you? I agree there should be better communication when dates do slip - just wondering how Ford should handle pre-orders in the future for better customer satisfaction (for those who don't understand the process).
  6. I see "something" behind the camo next to the headlight but honestly it doesn't even look like a grille to me - the spacing seems irregular. If it is a grille though it's most likely a mercury grille. We do know there was a Tracer planned before Mercury was killed.
  7. They have camo-vision like Borg. It allows you to instantly tell every minute detail of a production car based on an early camouflaged prototype.
  8. The next question is how many orders your dealer had in queue that were already at priority 10. Could be an allocation issue. Are they doing retail order verification for MKZ (did they get a copy of your license at order time)?
  9. Just curious - what were your expectations when you placed a "pre-order"?
  10. Since this is a concept I expect a 2.7L EB and a hybrid and/or phev version and the new 8 speed automatic.
  11. 80% of BMW 1-series buyers thought their vehicle was FWD. That pretty much sums it up.
  12. It starts out at Dealer ordered but I'm pretty sure the Dealer Ordered tag disappears after it's shipped but before it arrives at the dealer. Suffice it to say that just because a vehicle shows in stock that doesn't mean it's actually there. It may not have arrived yet or it may already have sold.
  13. That wouldn't work in Atlanta - nobody uses turn signals. I just think the system would get confused and fight you during normal lane changes. Maybe they'll get a smarter algorithm that will allow it to work when needed and not intrude when not needed. But I can understand why it's not on by default.
  14. This being the first real "Lincoln" I think they'll go all out and I do expect a hybrid version. Autoblog has a picture of the Escape and says the MkC will have a different front and rear. Aaarrggghh!!!! Idiots!!!!
  15. The dealer inventory is updated automatically from Ford (the standard Ford inventory website, not a dealer specific website) and it does show vehicles as in stock while they're in transit. I don't like it either since you can't really tell without calling. But the dealership doesn't control it.
  16. Wow. This is what the negatards think Lincoln should be doing? That doesn't look like a Lexus quality interior to me. Are they cost cutting to help sales or is this the new Lexus design language? I hate that grille on this and all the other Lexii. Still reminds me of this:
  17. That's a pretty close estimate. Let me just point out that the advertising fee is not a separate charge - it's actually included in the true dealer invoice price but since it varies by geographic location the internet sites don't ever show it. So X plan is actually (true dealer invoice) minus 0.4% (four tenths of one percent) plus $275. But since there is no way to know the true dealer invoice the formula above is within $100.
