  1. I might feel differently if this was a voluntary test that Ford chose to use and advertise. But it's not voluntary - it's MANDATED by FEDERAL LAW including posting the test results on the window sticker. And that is the ONLY mpg number that any mfr can advertise. To suggest they should do something else is silly.
  2. These are the reasons they say it's a flawed car. The beeping designed to alert you when you are too close to another car does not stop after a few seconds. So if you stop a foot behind someone at a red light, it will beep until you're moving again. If you want it to stop turn it off, otherwise it's working as designed. The switch for the headlights is in an unusual place, and hard to find in the dark (a bad time not to have your headlights on). With Auto you never touch them and even if you don't want to use Auto you'll learn the location in just a few minutes. The very cool panoramic roof limits visibility out the back of the car when it's open. DUH The front seat automatically moves backward when the car is turned off. That's nice for the driver, but not for the passenger behind him. So TURN IT OFF! There are no audio or climate controls in the back seat. Totally unnecessary. Functions of the navigation system can't be used when the car is moving — even when there's a passenger present. The smart move to limit driver distraction backfires here. Just like almost every other mfr. And Ford allows you to set destinations with voice commands which is FAR safer. A piece of plastic behind the door handle fell off. This should never happen in a brand new, $50,000 vehicle. Shouldn't happen - but one tiny piece on one vehicle? Really? What a joke. There are legitimate complaints about the MKZ but most of these are not among them.
  3. We gave you valid answers and reasons - you just don't want to accept them. And if that's your attitude then the feeling is mutual.
  4. Most "real gauges" are just fake anyway. They interpret the sensor data and change it to Normal or Abnormal and that drives the gauge. It avoids consumers who report problems due to normal gauge fluctuations. I know Ford did this with oil pressure and maybe others - I can only assume Chevy did this also but not 100% sure.
  5. Just guessing I would say about 2 mpg and probably 12k-20k tread life. Of course if you only use them in the summer they might last several years.
  6. If it changes the shift points on the tranny it will probably hurt mpg a little but the suspension changes won't make any difference.
  7. Like throwing darts with a blindfold on.
  8. Typically 2-3 months but it really varies and depends on that particular option and when it's available. I'm guessing they limited the colors to limit sales. That explains where the rumor came from in the U.S. about only having those colors available and also explains why it doesn't appear on the website.
  9. I haven't seen anything that said the steps were definitely wrong or how to correct them on the 2013 Fusion yet so it's hard to say.
  10. Try it again and make sure you don't wait too long as suggested. If that still doesn't work check with the dealer - in some cases the instructions in the manual have been wrong.
  11. They come on automatically when the wipers are on. For dry weather you have to put tint over the sensor. There is no software adjustment.
  12. At best it will generate a bit more profit from some existing sales but it ain't garnering any conquests. And yes, GMC is still redundant and totally unnecessary.
  13. I still say that Ford knew exactly what it was doing cutting corners and pushing products out the door faster than they should have in order to accelerate the move to global platforms with Focus, Escape and Fusion to realize the cost savings earlier and to get new high volume products out the door fast. And judging by the 1Q profits and sales data it was a success. They tried to do the same thing with MFT and that backfired.
  14. It's not really sync - it's MFT. sync still works just fine. And you should have seen it 2 years ago. Today's version is 100 times more stable which tells you just how bad it was. It will only get better going forward. Ford learned a hard lesson on this one relative to outsourcing development.
  15. Nothing against having a super trim level based on King Ranch and Platinum F150 success. I just wish the underlying truck wasn't so damned ugly.
  16. Any extra hardware or hooks? If not maybe both loops attach to each hook on each side.
  17. In my 2000 LS I had to install 2 additional hooks. The holes were there but I had to cut a slit in the carpet. It was in the instructions.
  18. They had an unusual circumstance where they had to ship cars around between plants which is totally out of process and their systems and processes couldn't handle it. I don't expect that to happen again. I don't know any volume car mfr that can track a vehicle once it's on the rail car or exactly when it will arrive. It's too expensive to ship directly by truck. i do agree you should get accurate info.
  19. I think U.S. buyers also went through the same misinformation on color availability but I don't remember why. I would suggest checking with another dealer - sometimes the dealer just doesn't have their stuff together (although it could be Ford in this case). Are you sure that Ford is even offering the 2013 Energi in Canada?
  20. Ford 3.7L V6 302 hp 278 lb/ft with over half a liter less displacement. The torque curve better be hefty.
