  1. As Scotty would say - "You can't change the laws of physics!". Heat requires energy and energy only comes from the ICE for non plug-ins. Add winter blend fuel and winter mpg will always be lower.
  2. It's only the power wires going to the vanity mirror and homelink controller. Never heard of a problem with the wiring.
  3. Of course - just like all hybrids.
  4. You must have gigantic drinks if the tops are touching. I prefer to use the door bin and leave the console open but that also requires smaller cups.
  5. What idiot would spend $60K to save a few hundred bucks a year in fuel?
  6. Saying that same sex marriage should not be allowed because seeing it conflicts with your religious beliefs is akin to saying that people shouldn't be allowed to eat bacon because it's offensive to Jews. My problem with SOME Christians is they believe their religion is the ONLY religion and all others are invalid and they want to impose THEIR values on everyone else. Look at Hasidic Jews - do you ever see them trying to push their religious beliefs or practices on others? I don't. I see them minding their own business. This "sanctity of marriage" crap is just that - CRAP! Two strangers in Vegas can get legally married without even knowing each other. Where is the sanctity in that? Half of all marriages end in divorce - where is the sanctity? It's all a smokescreen for homophobes. Renting a room or selling food to a homosexual couple does not infringe on your religious rights or beliefs. I do believe the church has the right to deny services if those services conflict with the church's beliefs. Therefore I would not force a church to marry a gay couple. But if they offer services to the public such as renting out a reception hall then they shouldn't be allowed to discriminate. There is no difference between this and mixed race marriages. As for polygamy - I really don't care as long as the laws governing property and divorce support it. And lastly - let me repeat that allowing gay couples to be legally married and letting them use your restroom doesn't affect you any more than if you were a Hasidic Jew watching someone else eat bacon.
  7. That was my argument - put the address in before you leave. I can't imagine needing to go to a new address on the fly all that often.
  8. It's actually illegal (at least in some areas) to show video within view of the driver while the vehicle is moving.
  9. I think the RX and ES have thrived on the coattails of loyal Toyota buyers who move up to a luxury vehicle. Ford owners can do the same thing for Lincoln.
  10. Everybody else seems to understand my points just fine (even if they don't always agree with them), so I'll save my typing for those that can comprehend it and I won't waste any more of it on you.
  11. Ford could easily boost Lincoln sales with incentives but I agree they're still trying to cull the dealer herd a little. And they don't want to create a customer base of bargain hunters. I don't think Ford is planning to hold back on the investment with Lincoln down the road - I think they're just being wise with their capital investments right now understanding it will be several years before they have a full lineup of new models and upgraded dealerships to support more volume and more profits to justify the added expense of new platforms.
  12. Other than the dealer experience, which will take some time to fix, what does the RX have that the MKX doesn't?
  13. You railed about the 2012 MKZ and totally ignored the 2013 MKZ after the 2013 MKZ was already in production and about to start shipping. You ignore the success of the ES and RX or the Caddy SRX. You ignore things when they don't fit your desires or when they're convenient for your arguments. Or maybe you're so delusional that you don't even remember what you type.
  14. Exactly. Lexus has laid out the blueprint for Lincoln. Make vehicles that look nothing like their cheaper platform mates. Give it luxury styling and features. Add a stellar dealer experience and you'll have customers for life. Whether they can pull it off or not is still up in the air but you can't honestly say it won't work because it has worked for years already for Lexus.
  15. I was referring to your many previous musings declaring Lincoln dead because they aren't building the kinds of cars you want to buy. You've done it repeatedly. Just because you throw in one "not the vehicle for ME" doesn't undo months of bemoaning the brand and their strategy. And if you honestly think that Lexus EX and RX buyers buy them because Lexus made/makes a handful of sporty cars you're simply delusional.
  16. It doesn't test anything - it estimates based on an algorithm including temperature and rpm.
  17. You will be better off accelerating normally up to speed rather than doing it too slowly. Once you're up to speed you just have to use the least amount of pressure to maintain speed and coast whenever possible. With the instant MPG bar you'll see what I mean. The difference between 30+ mpg and 20 mpg is very small.
  18. It has an instant mpg bar that I use all the time.
  19. Why would balancing be any different on a hybrid vs. a regular Titanium?
  20. I did some testing on a 5 hour one-way vacation trip. I have the 2.0EB and about 3K miles running regular. On the highway running 65 on level terrain I can get right at the EPA estimate of 33 mpg. At 70 I could only get 30 mpg. At 75 it drops to 27 mpg. I noticed a difference with fuel also. When I fueled up on Kiawah Island outside of Charleston I noticed the highway mileage jump up to 35 running 60-65 mph and seemed to be about 2 mpg higher than before. Once we refueled in GA it dropped again. I assume Kiawah already has summer blend fuel and/or 100% gas so it does make a difference. In city driving, pedal pressure is critical. The slightest bit of pedal pressure beyond the minimum required will kill fuel economy.
  21. This is the problem with many posters here. You can't seem to comprehend that what YOU like or dislike isn't necessarily what other buyers like or dislike. If Lincoln doesn't build the car YOU want them to build they're doomed to failure. The Lexus ES and RX are probably the last vehicle you'd be interested in but they sell like gangbusters. And that's the kind of vehicle Lincoln needs right now to build volume and profits and THEN they can afford to build niche vehicles.
  22. Some of the newer vehicles in the U.S. can't turn them on. Don't remember if it's the dealer software or the vehicle software but it's no longer available on some of the newer ones.
  23. the MKZ has tons of features not available on the MKX. Adaptive LED headlamps, push button shifting, Lincoln Ride Control and several other things that are easily worth an extra $5K.
