  1. That's why it's really really important to read the owner's manual.
  2. We can demonstrate gravity by dropping a ball. We have demonstrated lack of gravity with space travel. We have simulated lack of gravity using airplanes and pools. It is a theory which has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. We have no way to simulate GW on a large enough scale and with enough variables to prove or disprove MMGW. The fact that the earth has been MUCH hotter and MUCH colder at several times in the past without man suggests that nature is far more powerful than man which to me makes it less likely that GW is man made or significantly impacted by man. And when you form a theory and make predictions based on that theory and you don't get the results you expected, you don't just change the theory to match the results.
  3. It was really only targeted at Honda owners who needed a truck. Just like Ford targeted f150 owners who drove accords with the fusion although the fusion obviously has wider appeal.
  4. Companies that make business decisions based on short term stock prices are doomed to failure. Good companies make good business decisions for the long term viability and profitability of the company and the stock price will eventually follow.
  5. That's certainly not a repair that could be done easily in the field by a dealer and I don't think they're simply glued on with silicon. I think the bonding process is more complicated. If it was that simple there would be repair shops advertising this repair everywhere. Ford is not the only mfr using this process.
  6. The 2013 is an entirely different computer system than the previous gen. It's the same as the other European platforms (Escape and Focus). Mine came on today at 21 miles to empty. I prefer the 50 mte warning as I was on the way to the airport and had to make an unexpected stop. Then again I could have simply looked at the fuel gauge and dte before I got on the interstate but that would have been too easy......
  7. Which is more important - the MKC that could drive 5K sales per month with an ATP of $45K and kickstarts the Lincoln rebuilding plan or an Ecosport that would be lucky to sell 2K per month at $25K? Ford does not have unlimited resources. In order to bring Ecosport over (assuming it could be done profitably) they have to cancel or put some other program on hold. It's all a matter of priorities and Ecosport is not a priority right now.
  8. And how do you know that Ford isn't investing heavily in Lincoln right now? How do you know cost went up on the f150? You can increase costs in one area while reducing costs in others.
  9. The best designer/programmer/architect I ever worked with had a degree in philosophy. Go figure.
  10. The outer ring lights up on the titanium not the SE.
  11. Who says Lincoln will be giving G6s and Camrys as loaners? This is a new Lincoln policy so you can't go by past transgressions. In the past Lincoln didn't even guarantee a loaner much less a Lincoln loaner. All dealers should have a fleet of Lincoln loaners which they did not have before.
  12. Linux is huge in cloud computing and will continue to grow for servers ( not desktops ). Linux is 70-90% cheaper than unix running on proprietary Unix hardware and just as stable. Linux has powered TiVo software for over a decade and is behind the scene in lots of set top boxes. It's not math per se - but logical thinkers usually excel at both math and programming.
  13. The local Mercedes dealership offered Camry loaners at one time.
  14. The current cobra jet uses a strange engineering 9 inch rear. I don't see why this would be any different.
  15. They update them right up until the order bank opens (and maybe even afterwards).
  16. Strange - I don't have a problem with my fusion trunk lid.
  17. Why? If you were a dealer would you buy 2 extra loaner cars that sit unused 363 days a year? And nobody said the rentals were corollas - I'm sure they would be upscale vehicles. They just wouldn't necessarily be a Lincoln. Not to mention the folks who want a truck or other non Lincoln vehicle.
  18. I was hired in 86 to do COBOL but midway through initial training they came in the class and said they had 6 spots in this new group doing something called "Unix" and did anybody want to volunteer. 6 of us broke an arm raising our hands and we were the only 6. The rest - as they say - is history. I asked some of my friends why they wanted to stay with COBOL and they said "job security - just look at all the job ads for COBOL programmers". Then I explained to them that while there may have been 200 COBOL job ads there were probably 4000 qualified applicants. With Unix back then there may have only been 10 jobs but there were probably only 5 qualified applicants.
  19. It's not hard to learn a new factory job either. That's why it's called unskilled labor.
  20. They wouldn't have decals - they'd be loaners rented from Enterprise, etc. and you wouldn't know they were loaners.
  21. Not tidal flooding but flooding in other parts of the city. The tidal flooding is also due to the land sinking. I can't see where a 6-8 inch rise in sea level would cause that type of flooding all by itself without other factors.
