  1. We discussed this at length a few weeks ago. It seems a foregone conclusion that the next Expy will share most of the new F150. It may or may not get IRS. It all comes down to cost.
  2. Congratulations - now you can get tracking for your order.
  3. I wasn't anticipating it being built in 2 places either but since the MKZ isn't being exported to South America then they could build MKZ only at Flat Rock with no issues, freeing up Hermosillo for more Fusion production.
  4. You do understand that Fusion production is being added to Flat Rock, right? Hermosillo doesn't have enough capacity for anticipated Fusion/MKZ demand.
  5. So it does. I don't know where I keep getting the 47/44 number.
  6. Not sure but the Volt has a higher electric range (about 35 vs 20). But as I've pointed out once the ICE kicks in the Volt is not as efficient only getting 37 mpg whereas the Fusion Energi should get 47/44 just like the regular hybrid. So below 20 miles they're the same. Volt wins from 20 to 35. After 35 the Fusion Energi is cheaper per mile and would eventually overtake the Volt in overall efficiency. And it should be cheaper.
  7. Depends on the rate you can get on your own and the amount of the rebate. It's usually better to take the cash but if you had bad credit and could only get 6% instead of 2.9 and the rebate isn't too high then it might be better to take the 0%. There are calculators on the web that will compare it for you.
  8. Your argument makes no sense and you're not listening to reason so there is no reason to keep discussing it further with you. Nobody's closing the thread so feel free to continue to espouse your silliness but I doubt there will be anyone listening.
  9. Ford does have the data and they don't agree with you. End of discussion.
  10. Exactly. You don't just throw away that much experience and knowledge if you don't have to.
  11. See - you cannot fathom that someone would not want this technology and that's why you should leave the marketing to the marketing experts. Let me see if I can wrap up your argument in a nutshell: You want Ford to make push button start standard on every vehicle so some rapper can say "my Ford's got push button start" which will give Ford street cred and cause more fans of that music to buy Fords because they have push button start. And you think they can only do that if ALL Fords came with push button start and they can't do that if it's an option on all vehicles. Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. That's why engineers don't make good marketers and vice versa.
  12. I think keeping Mulally around in an advisory role to the new management team is a good idea regardless of what you call it.
  13. There are some design considerations that force the use of ITHs as we used to call them on the Lincoln LS forum (Intrusive Trunk Hinges). Sometimes it either can't be helped or it costs too much to make it work. I rarely load my trunk (and I lived with the LS for 6 years like that) so it's not an issue for me.
  14. That's just it - it's not an engineering problem, it's a marketing problem. Ford gets all of the benefits by making push button start an option on all models. It gains nothing by making it standard on every vehicle. In fact they are guaranteed to lose customers by doing that. Bob Lutz built cars that he liked but nobody bought them. It's never a good marketing move to assume everyone else likes what you like.
  15. It's not just older people - that was just an example. You only want to see one side of the equation so I'm done arguing with you.
  16. Non-executive chairman. What a stupid title name. If you already have Executive Chairman then wouldn't Non-executive chairman just be "Chairman". That would be like having "Senior VP" and "Non Senior VP".
  17. Some people do not want any electronic stuff on their vehicle because they see it as something they will have to pay extra to fix down the road. Those fobs/RFID credit cards are not cheap to replace either. These people post in public forums every day. My daughter has a 2012 Focus that was purchased used with 120 miles on it. Why? Because the older couple who bought it didn't like the MFT interface and they certainly would not have liked push button start. So either all of these people posting constantly about not wanting a vehicle with high tech features are lying or you're just not paying attention. I vote for the latter.
  18. But why did we have to lose the $25B? Why can't it be paid back in full now that the companies involved are making profits again? I'm not against the baillouts as a loan but dammit - pay it back!
  19. That's a head scratcher. No technical reason I can think of given the equipment listed for the 204A package. Must be a marketing thing.
  20. It's white, not beige or cream. In certain lighting it has a pearlescent glow (really nice under streetlamps). You can see it on a number of Ford vehicles right now on any Ford dealer lot. Just go look.
