  1. Given what happened with the MKZ "concept" I don't understand all the hand-wringing about the production version being watered down.
  2. Absolutely not. Max Wolff didn't do the Vertrek/Escape.
  3. Nowadays you can wax it immediately. With the older paints they needed time to cure. The new stuff is already cured before it leaves the factory.
  4. Even the wheelbase is different from the Escape. This is how you take a shared platform and make a unique vehicle. This must be a sad day for the negatards with nothing legitimate to complain about.
  5. Again - that's the danger ordering a vehicle before it's in production. Everything is subject to change. Actually they can change things mid year also. Of course you should have the option to cancel the order if you don't like the changes. This is not a good launch no matter how you look at it. But I think the product will be worth it. You still get the Sony radio and push button start/intelligent access plus some other stuff with the Tit Hybrid so I wouldn't say little difference.
  6. Well that sucks. I think there are a lot of last minute changes going on and the documentation folks are having a hard time keeping up. I'm considering going back to a non hybrid Titanium since I can get it on X plan and probably can't get much of a discount on a hybrid making the price difference a lot bigger. Plus I really want the 19" h spokes and dual exhaust.
  7. I think this is my wife's next vehicle to replace the Edge in 2-3 years. Bravo Ford and Bravo Mr. Wolff for showing the negatards that you can create a stunning design and vehicle from a shared platform. I would like to see a 2.0 hybrid for max fuel economy and a 2.7EB with 300 hp, 320 lb/ft. I assume it will get the MKZ Lincoln exclusive features - THX, heated and cooled seats, adaptive LED headlamps and Lincoln Ride Control. I would expect a BAMR - don't think there is enough room for a fully retractable roof.
  8. Because nothing whatsoever has changed at Lincoln the last 2 years, right?
  9. Got one for a rental a couple of years ago. Even the spare tire tool came in a Chrysler bag.
  10. What more differentiation could you possibly expect? You of all people should be excited about this vehicle. You should be able to sell at least 5K/month.
  11. I was using that to explain why it doesn't turn on automatically all the time.
  12. Each offer can have different rules. Some are available on hybrids some aren't.
  13. It doesn't have to be the exact vehicle going to production but the pieces of the vehicle (drivetrain, styling, features) have to be production capable otherwise it's a waste of resources. The MKR platform didn't exist and wasn't planned. The engine was a fake. They didn't have anything that would support a coupe tophat. Evos parts have already shown up with the 2013 Fusion and presumably the next Mustang.
  14. Send him to his sales manager and the sales manager doesn't know find a new dealership. Or have them ask Ford. This is not new - they've been doing it periodically for years.
  15. I have more of a problem with people who don't turn on their lights at all. And I'm not talking about when it's a little dark - I'm talking you can't see the car amongst all the other cars with their lights on. So I flash my lights at them 3 times. Nothing. I'd say ONE time out of 7 they turn on their lights. The other 6 just keep going. How is that possible? Do they not see me flashing my lights? Do they not understand what it means? Do they just not care? I don't get it.
  16. Compare the number of people who say they want manuals with the number that actually buy them.
  17. Pretty sure it was a Mustang chassis with some type of IRS bolted on to the rear.
  18. The dealer needs to stop being lazy and just look up the proper oil for each vehicle.
  19. I can just see some guy standing there pushing the button to drop the tailgate and it not working and he just continues to push the button trying to make it work instead of walking over and doing it manually. Like when the tv remote control stops working. Stupid men.
  20. X plan and retail order verification are different although both require a named customer. You can do X plan without ROV. The difference is ROV orders don't count against the dealer's allocation.
  21. Even Ford employees seem baffled by the decision to only offer black on Titaniums. The only logical explanation is they're purposely limiting titanium trim sales and the only reason for that would be CAFE.
