  1. Only if it has STELLAR fuel economy. The 3.5LEB commands the upcharge on the F150 because of the higher performance over the 3.7L. It has to either add performance or MPG to command a premium price.
  2. I think it will be the lower end fuel economy engine for sure. Whether it costs more or less than the 3.7L isn't clear - probably depends on how much better the mpg figures are and whether Ford thinks they can get away with charging more.

  4. Am I the only one that glanced at this and saw "sheep terrain"?
  5. Novermber 2011 is what I heard but I don't remember the context (which models, etc.). This came from a dealership employee from a Ford memo (supposedly) so maybe somebody can chime in with more details.
  6. Sounds like 2 rational reasons to me. If you need sql help shoot me an email.
  7. No, they said it won't be available for job 1. It should be available before the end of the year.
  8. This is not how it is supposed to work. Once you're in manual mode (you've put it in S and hit one of the shift buttons) it should only upshift if you're at redline and it should only downshift when you come to a stop or almost to a stop and it will downshift to keep the engine from stalling. It should not downshift in 3rd gear just because you accelerate. My guess is when it does this you are just in Sport mode not manual mode (you haven't touched the shift button yet). If so you should report that to the dealer. FYI - my 2000 Lincoln LS was the first Ford with Selectshift and it NEVER shifted for you except when you came to a stop. It would sit there and bang off the rev limiter all day long if you let it. I'm guessing the upshift at red line is either due to customer complaints or to protect the dual clutch tranny.
  9. 48,000 on my 06 Fusion. My daily commute is only about 20 miles round trip.
  10. Why not Oracle? I was doing 24/7 mission critical Oracle apps way back in 1990 when they just came out with row level locking (version 6.0.27). Oracle rocks, especially with large dbs or high transaction rates.
  11. Even though Ford says it's for Security, I don't believe that. I think it's because they built the mykey functionality into the engine start process and it was too hard to get it to work after the engine had been started. So the easy solution is to just shut off the engine and force the user to restart with the correct key in range. That also explains why turning off mykey circumvents the problem. I'm sure they'll eventually fix it.
  12. My 22 yr old son just drove from Atlanta to Seattle - for the second time. He did it 3 yrs ago when his friend moved out there. Made it from Atlanta to Kansas City in one day. I'm with you - anything over 6-8 hours is torture.
  13. Let's wait and see if the article is correct. If so that is rather disappointing. It might explain why we didn't see it last year and why we're hearing rumors of a 2.3L EB.
  14. Blue! No.....Green...........Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
  15. Supposedly the dealer can deactivate the mykey feature and the remote start won't turn off the engine. Of course you lose the mykey functionality.
  16. Say what? Having to push the button one time totally negates the benefits of warming the car up (or cooling it off) before getting in?
  17. Not possible. You can't get the 3.7L V6 with the FX2. Had to be a XL, STX or XLT. If it was a FX2 then it had to be either a 5.0L or a 3.5L EB.
  18. Your problem is your myopic view of the world. If you don't see one on the road in your town then they must not be selling anywhere. If the people you talk to don't like it then NOBODY likes it. All we're trying to point out is objective data that suggests there are a lot of perfectly satisified MFT owners out there with little or no problems. There are some with big problems and those should have never happened - but Ford is trying to fix it. But those problems are clearly not affecting everyone. Early on when the 2011 Edge first debuted there were lots of people complaining about problems. But a dealership service person said they had sold 200 Edges in the last month and only one had reported any problems. Take off the blinders and try to see things objectively for a change.
  19. We're talking about the 2011 MKX, not the 07-10 model. Huge difference. How do you convince people that Lincolns are better? You make them better. Better styling (we keep hearing Aston Martin analogies), better materials, better drivetrains, better luxury features, better warranty and service programs, better dealer experience.
  20. This is the stupidest idea that Lt. Dan has had in at least 2 weeks.
  21. I ordered a Focus SEL 300A hatchback on 5/31. As of 6/27 it was already built and on a rail car in Kentucky.
  22. The Ford Edge Forum is not BON. It's a separate website with a lot of Edge owners. There have been dozens of complaints about MFT over the last 9 months but all were about system failures, rebooting or poor performance. You don't like it. Fine. It's not for everybody. But you're in the minority.
