  1. I had one as a rental for a few days. Lots of utility, not much fun factor. I'd rather have a 6.
  2. A few observations... 1) A 116 hp engine is the hot motor?? Does the car perhaps weigh 1200 lbs? 2) Still don't like that center stack much, but I don't think that would keep me from buying it. LOVE that blue paint, too. 3) How long before a(nother) vitriolic comment from P71 about the ambient lighting? 4) [mhlm5 = ON]Diesel? DIESEL?? OH BOY!!!! (piddles down leg)
  3. And, yet, somewhere mlhm5 is having spontaneous orgasms...
  4. Uh...yeah. Does it ever rain where you live??
  5. JW

    SMS Mustang

LOVE the glass roof. HATE the rear bumper treatment (same ugly bumper cover used on the Saleen Mustangs).
  6. Sheesh! Even an AWD system with HEAVY rear bias won't let you do that. Nice try, though...
  7. Did you just call Hyundai a "high line" manufacturer??
  8. Pretty decent review, the guy's only real gripe is the lack of a telescoping steering wheel. And what's the deal with every automotive writer trying so hard to be witty? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,375884,00.html
  9. Not to mention the sorry fact that gas prices have gone up over 50% since the Democrats took over Congress (only 18 months ago)
  10. Yeah, that's right, go ahead and perpetuate the myth that criminals get guns because of lax gun laws. Because dirtbags steal them from people like me, and then ship them to your country (maybe your country ought to tighten up its borders a bit instead of blaming the US for yet another of your ills???). And if you have this massive influx of illegal guns, despite so many restrictions, what does that tell you about the effectiveness of your laws??
  11. Let's see...the Supreme Court protecting an individual's right to protect themselves, their family, and their property from thugs who thrive on operating outside the "protection" of a handgun ban, is idiotic? Do you honestly think that this ruling will make guns more available to criminals? Do you think that they were just doing without, prior to today? The crime rate in DC has spiraled out of control in the last 20+ years. Certainly the citizens' inability to (legally) protect themselves hasn't helped. The shortsightedness of the anti-gun nuts continually blows me away...
  12. Here in California it's not at all unusual to see a Lariat outfitted with a lumber rack and toolboxes. Hell, I've seen more than a few Lightnings with lumber racks on them and lawnmowers in the bed. Leather seats don't not make it a work truck.
  13. A couple of ways... 1) On the sticker on the driver's door jamb, there will be all sorts of information (VIN barcode, stock tire size, axle code, etc.). Find the axle code; it'll be two characters. Then refer to this page to decode it. 2) There should be a metal tag attached to the rear axle by one of the differential cover bolts, that will have the axle ratio on it, and also whether or not it's a limited slip. If it's a 3.73 limited slip, it'll have something like 3L73 on it.
  14. Just a hunch, but I'd expect to see an Erectile Dysfunction version first, available in Viagara Blue or Cialis Yellow.
  15. Maybe I need to start paying attention to more newer cars (or cars in general, being primarily a truck guy), but that center stack just looks goofy. I realize that many of the ergonomic complaints people/car magazines may have are things that owners would get used to, but some of that stuff I just don't get. The mirror switch, while odd, is still relatively intuitive. And I agree on the lack of center armrest. I've rented cars (most recently a Mazda5) without them, and had to shove something in between the seats. What an ignoranamus!!! :D
  16. Crap! None of the pictures from FoMoCoNews are working. Crap, I say!!
  17. The Cimmaron wasn't a piece of shit because it was FWD. It had many other things working against it (like that responsive new 2.0L engine).
  18. Alan sharing the books with you again? No? THEN WHERE DO YOU COME UP WITH THIS SHIT???????
  19. How can anyone repeat anything Pelosi says, with any amount of seriousness?
  20. Same here. I don't drive a whole lot to begin with (work is 6 miles one way), so current fuel prices aren't having a major long-term effect on my financial well-being; I just try to be smarter about the running-around driving I occasionally have to do (plus it's less money to spend on fast food, which is helping me to achieve another goal). My own personal economy has greatly improved in the last year; if the situation we all find ourselves in now had happened two years ago, I'd really have been screwed. When it's reasonable to do so, I'll supplement my fleet with an efficient runaround car (probably a Fiesta), but until then, it makes more financial sense to stick with what I have. And history being the best indication, the current situation will not remain forever. Is it likely to get worse? Yes. Will it get worse and Worse and WORSE and WORSE!!!!? I seriously doubt it.
  21. And if/when you go to that third dealer, start off by telling them about the runaround you got at their competition...
