  1. No trucks are being loaded on trains at KTP. The trucks are being taken to a yard in Shelbyville and loaded on trains there. That is why you are seeing so many trucks on I-64.
  2. Building Chairman sent out a note stating that anyone on TLO this week will have to claim 10 hrs pay and you must include the increase in COLA
  3. Why are you being so bitter? We finally get some good news for a change and now all you want to do is bash someone because they see a possibility to make a move to save their job. I hope everyone that reads these posts don't believe that all people from Kentucky are A__ hole Hillbillies. If openings come available for MTP workers they will fit in just like our brothers and sisters from Ohio, Indy, Atlanta etc.
  4. I would like to clear up some false information stating that Scott was paid his regular pay last Thursday and Friday while campaining in the plant. I did some checking around and discovered that he used the nationally negotiated family days that we all get. All I can say is Scott I hope that you spent those days well and got the message across to our membership that you ARE the right person for the Chairmans job. You have proven over and over again that you can handle whatever this position throws your way. Good luck, our membership needs your strength and commitement.
  5. I keep hearing that Dealers all over the country can't seem to get SD trucks. I was at Tri-County Ford today and saw at least a dozen SD trucks and three of those were 450's with boxes. If the local dealers can get them, whey can't the rest of the country?
  6. At KTP and I believe LAP parking lot restrictions have been put in place. The lots that are close to the plant have been set up for Ford brand products only. Anything else has to be parked at a lot that is all the way at the other end of the property. The only exceptions are vehicles with handicap stickers.
  7. KTP is down the next 2 weeks with rumor of more before the end of the year. Also heard today that the first quarter of next year may have 6-8 weeks more. Hope the rumors are wrong.
  8. Do you really think that he has that much power? If Ford wants to shut down a plant, do you think that Mr. Gettelfinger has enough power to keep it open with no product to send there?
  9. I know as a UAW member working for Ford we are not on strike as of yet. I was wondering what we can do to show support or help our Union Brothers and Sisters the are on strike from GM. Let me know your thoughts.
  10. Please don't let these posts about quality at Ky Truck confuse you. The quality if our truck is better now that it has been in year. It is because we have a UAW work force that takes quality serious. We are very proud of our product and would have nothing but the utmost confidence that you or anyone else that purchases one of our trucks would be completely satisfied with the quality. I do agree that some things in the plant are a bit out of order, but the quality is still there.
  11. Mark is not the guy that normally does this. Even though he is very helpful any time I have needed him. Rick Pardue is the UAW liason for quality issues. He is on days at the same number as Mark. Hope this helps
  12. Went long today to make up about 150 units that have been lost in the last couple of weeks. The axle issue effected 1200 units that are being held for repair. Axles are good now. Most of the other units in the yard that are not being shipped are for a suspected bad multi switch, not because of axles.
  13. Big blue Fury, You are a prime example what is wrong with unions today. You are the union and yet you will backstab your union brothers and sisters just to get ahead. I know who you are but will come talk to you in person about your frustrations and lack of knowledge of what a true union brother is. I have read this new C.O.A. agreement and it seems pretty damn good, but you do not like the attendance policy because you miss a hell of alot of work. Now I am sure you will reply that you miss no work, but to tell you all before he does make some stupid statement, he is part of the 10 % that screws us all. We just got sole producer up to 400,000 units a year untill 2011. The union negotiated to allow 4% personal days from 2.5 %, this is great because people like you who don't come to work screwed us in the past. Brothers and sisters from KTP, please do not take anything that this dumbass states as truth. We are a young plant and need to gain more and more production in the future and the new COA is the first step. I agree change is hard but we at KTP are not being forced to leave and move our families to another state. You can look for yourself at this agreement and see that it is ten times better than any other COA agreement including our sister plant LAP. You all have an option and a right to vote, please use it wisely and read the COA for yourselves and make your vote for the future. I think we will be able to retire from KTP, but we all hate change and change is here.
  14. Little over 7 years at KTP. I am going to stay put and try to ride it out. Right now KTP's future looks fairly stable with all of the rumors of a high order bank coming and possibly another product to make the plant full capacity. I would hate to give up a good job and find out later that I was wrong. Good luck to everyone no matter what decision you make.
  15. 7.? years. Magic 8 ball says to take my chances and stay put @KTP. It's about as reliable as anything that FMC can give me.
  16. Toyota employees are so afraid of the company that they won't even talk to an organizer. Do you think that any Japanese company would pay the wage and benefits that they now pay if the UAW was not knocking at their door? Sure people at Toyota make almost what we do. But if you take away the union they will go back to the national minimum wage that our Republican federal government will not raise. What can the people at Toyota do about it? They can quit or just do what they are told to keep their job. Not all of us have the option of living off of our salary paid spouse like some of the people who post here can.
  17. At KTP you have to have a pass to be seen in medical unless it is an emergency such as bleeding/chest pain etc. When you get to medical you are required to sign in no matter what in order for the medical staff to document how many people that they treat. We have a good staff of nurses at our plant and like every other job at FMC job security is questionable. So when they require information from you they are just doing what they need to do to survive.
  18. I agree, I also have 99 seniority and staying. After the first of the year we are going to be balls to the wall with a large order bank and posibly some new product to make KTP full capacity. A lot of people that I have been talking to feel the same way and will not be taking any buyout. No buyouts mean no openings which results in no transfers at this time. If we do get transfers we all should welcome them because you never know when it will be us going somewhere else. So KTPers that your lucky stars and wish all of your union brothers and sisters from other plants luck. Just my opinion.
  19. I know that I am not the only one with vehicles finances with FMC. I have heard that you can have them put payments on the end of your loan if you have had the loan with them over 1 year. Does anyone have any information on this?
  20. Wow!! Now I know why Jr. has not given us any info. He is waiting for the J B Hunt truckers to get the "Way Forward" plan on the road. So everyone go to your nearest truck stop and wait for the information you need to plan your life.
  21. I hope that all of the UAW brothers and sisters that read this garbage don't think that everyone at KTP has this same mentallity. We know that Ford is in major trouble and it is going to effect KTP as well as the rest of the plants. Yes we have had it good for quite a few years now, and we hope it continues. But we also feel for all of the plants that are being cut back or closing. Many people forget that our local not only includes KTP but it is also includes LAP that has a very uncertain future. Most workers at KTP have friends or family members at LAP and understand what the rest of the plants in the country are feeling. I myself hope that I can continue to provide for my family, but I also hope that my UAW brothers and sisters around the country can still support theirs. So please don't hate everyone at KTP because of a certain few smart asses that post their stupid opinions here.
  22. I also heard that the week of 10/2 will go from just B crew to the whole plant.
