  1. I probably have a trailer hooked to my superduty 95% of the time and there's always something in the bed, but it is my work truck. My other trucks might get my ATV in the bed or haul some parts or pick something up for the house occasionally, but 95% of the time they are just being used to move me around. But, like you said, who cares what someone else does with their vehicle.
  2. Neat trick, but do you really need to "warm up the tires" when you have AWD? Either way, burnouts are cool
  3. I have bags with a gauge/switch and on board pump on my 250. Can let the air out from in the cab when not loaded, then just hit the switch and level it out when the trailer or load is on it. Keep the decent ride when not loaded and handle the heavy loads without any trouble.

It is a decent point that I haven't heard brought up before.. but I imagine much like waiting in lines at a gas station on heavy holiday travel weekends near major interstates, you'll have the same thing with charging stations. Could be a bigger problem if charging times aren't solved in the next gen cars, but if it takes the same amount of time as a fill up by then it may not be too big of an issue. As far as number of chargers, there doesn't seem to be much overhead or maintenance with them (though I don't have anything to back up that guess). And if there's a convenience store attached to it, or the chargers are at the gas station that is still selling gasoline (seems to be happening around here more and more), it might be a none issue altogether.

  6. To be fair, I have an engineering degree and it took me 3 attempts to use the multi quote function correctly in the last thread I commented on. The software is a little clunky, even it's been around a while lol
  7. Yes, this is what I was asking. If a heat pump for the "normal" heater INSTEAD of heated panels would provide the same/better/worse efficiency as compared to resistive elements in the "normal" heater as I thought Ford was still using on their BEVs, but wasn't sure. Sorry for the confusion, of course a heat pump for panels would be WAY complicated, not even sure you could make that work.

Heat pumps are what heats/cools your house using freon/compressors and the pv=nrt formula, resistive elements are what they use when it says "emergency heat" on your little display when the heat pump fails and makes your power bill go to a million because it's just directing electricity to resistance and blowing air over it (wasting energy and .. range in an EV). Unless I'm misinformed or missing your point.
  9. Not sure how much it effects weight capacity, but the superduty wheels are hubcentric vs lug centric for the older pattern. Might be some gain there with the hub holding the wheel instead of the lugs.
  10. Makes sense on a delivery vehicle. Does Ford use heat pumps on their EVs or resistive coils? If still resitive I wonder how this approach compares to a heat pump?
  11. The oldest is the S. I'll concede the sheetmetal hasn't changed much, but to say they haven't changed under the sheet metal is just flat out wrong. the 3 is 5? years old, Y even newer. Semi ramping, Cybertruck coming this year even if you still think it won't. I don't particularly care for the looks of most of the models (I do think the S plaid is pretty damn cool), but the processes and results are what Ford needs to be looking at when going after BEV sales. The giga plants are scaling as we speak and they are pretty much on target for their 50% yoy long term growth while maintaining industry leading margins.. and still able to cut prices. They're definitely doing something right and I think Farley recognizes that.
  12. Remember when Ford thought it was a good idea to use a 7 lug wheel on the F150HD/F250LD on the 97-03 trucks? Ford always does goofy stuff like that across the board, makes customizing a nightmare. I know they don't care about the aftermarket, but being a Ford guy can suck sometimes with how much they change everything.

  14. Remember the part in the article where Farley wants to eliminate bracket engineers and make pieces/fasteners have multiple uses?   17. I'm sure they'd sell, but those spy pics look more like a timberline+ or something along those lines than a raptor. No fender flares, still IRS, not much room for uptravel, can't really see in the pics but no signs of high dollar shocks...
  18. I'm almost positive Ford will find a way to over-complicate it. There are several versions and variations of almost everything they've done from at least the 70s on (I don't mess with much older than that so I don't know), down to half year changes in things as simple as a wiring harness.

  20. How's the demand for this thing looking? Did they take reservations? Haven't liked much from GM trucks design wise since the 67-72 trucks, some of the 2000s stuff wasn't bad.. this thing is almost as ugly as cybertruck to me.
