  2. 117,xxx miles 2002 Focus ZX3 2.0L DOHC, 5 spd. manual I've owned it since ~83,000 miles, haven't had any issues except for a cracked thermostat housing and a leaking valve cover gasket. No maintenance but tires, oil changes, and brakes. I'm happy with it.
  3. Completely agree. However, "what's 400 million in profits to such a big company? huh? HUH?!" is exactly what's the issue: it's a sense of false entitlement. That's the beauty of America: you're free to do with your profits what you please, and I can't believe I'm actually reading an actual human being suggest that Ford give up half a billion dollars in profit to benefit THEM. ^There's another issue. fordworker is presumably a Ford employee and yet...they aren't aware of VEBA. Educate yourself regarding these matters so you DON'T get dicked over by the man.
  4. Comparing peak numbers between two engines doesn't always tell the whole story. Under the curve power and torque is where the biggest difference will be felt.
  5. Jobs that can't be sustained in the current economic climate. So flies the bird of capitalism.
  6. A massive amount of Ford-loyal buyers. This might be a depressed area, but there's still *plenty* of people around here with good jobs and enough scratch to keep buying new cars.
  7. F-100 info has been bandied about for years, I don't believe a word anyone says about it.
  8. There's multiple final drive ratios in the differential, located in the transmission, depending on the trim level/model. I'm pretty sure it's as simple as that.
  9. http://www.greencarcongress.com/2007/09/getrag-introduc.html So, like you said, under development.
  10. Where oh where did I see a press release detailing what I think was a hybrid powerpack compatible DCT... Allow me to get to googling.
  11. All igor ever did was regurgitate shit he read here that Blue II and others posted.
  12. And it'll probably be a hell of a lot less issue-prone than Volkswagen/Audi's current FWD DSG box. The hydraulic system has some goofy issues in those applications, but then again, it's German
  13. I've received PMs on other boards that strongly suggested I edit posts about future products. These weren't directly from Ford employees but from people with knowledge of Ford's IT policies and the fact that they're cracking down on a whole lot harder. Non-disclosure agreements are a bitch.
  14. +1^^^ If you cannot figure out how to properly use the Ford cruise control interface, you are braindead.
  15. You're acting as if a turbocharged direct injection inline-4 is come kind of newfangled, untested technology. It's not. Even "don't even think about owning this vehicle out of warranty" Volkswagen and Audi powertrains don't eat themselves up after 50k miles. The technology is as close to perfected as it will get; powertrains simply don't experience critical failures at mass scale anymore. They put 50k+ miles on tons of vehicles before they sell em, you know! When I was down in Dearborn, we didn't have ONE powertrain failure on a production-spec vehicle in the test pool AFAIK, and these vehicles were beat to death with over 50k miles on them.
  16. That's one of 3 RSs in Dearborn. There's red, white, and blue There's a red ST too.
  17. Could just be an old mule. That's a weird place to see one too. I drove through that intersection no more than an hour ago, heh.
  18. I've seen them in the flesh...YUCK. Do not want.
  19. You'll have to come to terms with it eventually. Audi and BMW diesels in the US already require urea refills at dealership service intervals. People will learn to maintain their vehicle in a hurry once they ignore it and are met with a no-start condition! I'd expect to see warnings just like this: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4418608
  20. I think JPD was referring to the upcoming Explorer as the final iteration of the D3 as we know it.
  21. I've been seeing SHOs lately, them suckas are some BIG vehicles. Sharp sharp sharp.
