  1. cobalt SS 5/100 pwrtn wty....clutch tested to withstand multiple aggressive launches......cobalt SS records fastest time on the nurburgring of any sport compact by over 13 seconds.....go read edmunds and car and drivers tests on it. cheap interior still but the rest of the car is the real deal.
  2. new xb is garbage inside and out. the flex derives its look as much from the old woody wagons, and the bronco and range rovers, as the xb. flex has a nice interior where the xb's is trash
  3. g8 interior was a larger, nicer version of a mazda 3 interior? not luxurious, but tasteful and purposeful.
  4. sat in a g8 yesterday. i sure hope the new taurus is half as appealing as that car.
  5. i want to know which trannies the ecoboost gets. stick?
  6. base jettas sell for about 17k so the tdi will be at least 4-5k more. i like the tdi but it is always quite a bit more than the other jettas
  7. i'll settle for the ecoboost fusion and about 15 grand in my pocket
  8. tomorrow sales reports come out and will show third stright months of healthy sales gains for the 08 focus. despite that its not the euro focus, ford would probably tell you they are happy with the sales figures considering the little investment they could put into it.
  9. i'd like to see the AWD option carry over.
  10. no two tone roof on your SE NO AWD ON YOUR SE no moonroof of any kind on your SE Vista roof only moonroof available? if you want AWD you are forced to the SEL which is much higher priced than the SE. i think the pricing has killed this vehicle as an option for me. chevy traverse will probably come in much cheaper. not much cargo room behind the first row, either. may have to go the minivan route after all since i clearly will not be able to foot the bill for an AWD flex. So the chrysler/vw Routan van or the Quest may be in the picture now. or get a taurus x now while you still can.
  11. funny true story. eating at a fast food joint tonight en route home from a long trip. family pulls up in a freestyle. 2 parents and FOUR, count em four kids. yup, some folks are using that third seat! looks like the wagon was perfect for them! this citroen c5 wagon is darned hot http://www.km77.com/00/citroen/c5/g02.asp
  12. having had one for a week as a loaner, i could see where you would make the comments you did. Regarding engine noise it does exist but seemingly in the midrange during acceleration. More often than not, its fairly quiet. that midrange drone detracts though. the car is as you said a value proposition. but as much as people drive small cars because they have to and because truthfully very few want to, it will sell well as a middle of the road commuter car. I would upgrade to a midsize like a fusion before i would spend a lot more for a better compact.
  13. that's how i would take mine. black, with black roof, no ugly extra trim on the back hatch.
  14. while the mks is not a stunner, cumberford is a moron. most of his 'desgin analysis' is garbage. i used to subscribe to that mag. whatever history he has sure does not come off credibly in his analyses. it's usually just a bunch of meandering drivel written in circles. he's right up with the auto journalists i dislike the most. how he is employed in this arena is beyond me. i'd really like to read analysis from someone who speaks English and makes sense and has taste.
  15. the flex is supposed to have noticeably more room inside than the t-rex. it's taller, FOUR inches wider and claims in the promotions that it has unreal 2nd row leg room (the t-x is tight in the second row compared to the 500).
  16. mondeo is pleasant looking, but aero is not en vogue in the us right now. the interior is not that great either. everyone thinks the modeo is the deal because its euro. yet i think most folks would probably like to see the 09 fusion job before we anoint the mondeo the chosen one. the euro focus does not have enough styling or feature set advantages to make it gotta have and neither does the mondeo, despite how nice a drive either of those cars may be. if ford brought the mondeo here it would need a proper v6, and a whole new interior, (complete with sync). As for TTAC, they are typically the automotive journalism equaivalent of what I left on the end of the driveway this morning, for the guys in the truck to pickup.
  17. bet the refresh with the new v6 will be a nice affordable sporty getabout.
  18. jeez, i have about 3 E85 stations within 5 miles of my house. I wish my car was E85.
  19. tau-x/FS sells huge here, at least this part of mommyville, snowbelt, usa
