  1. Seems to just have been a popular European thing for years.
  2. Kinda surprised to see them include this iteration of the Durango. It's much closer to the Explorers and Traverses of the world.
  3. It's almost like the rich are trying to distract us, or something.
  4. "The new 7-seat Edge will almost certainly be too small for my family's needs, but I'm almost certain I'll like how it looks regardless."
  5. You just dated yourself there. But seriously, that shows that you (and your siblings) were riding around without car seats. Guys like Fuzzy and myself can't really do that with our kids 40 years later.
  6. We're in the same boat. I've been looking at Expeditions for a while now, and a new one today starts a nice $20K more than ten years ago. (Before anyone asks, that number only drops to $13K when adjusted for inflation.) That makes no sense. And that's pretty much the truth across the market, not just within Ford.
  7. I believe many of us pointed out this resemblance when Lexus first debuted the grille shape. Apparently, instead of receiving it as an insult, someone in their design department keeps considering this look a goal or an aspiration.
  8. I mean literally big. I know Maxima is still positioned above Altima in the lineup, but for the past decade or so the cars have been very nearly identical in size. Same wheelbases, within an inch of each other in other dimensions.
  9. If memory serves, GM called it a hybrid first (heightening expectations) before rebranding it eAssist. Ram seems to have skipped out on branding it as a hybrid system, so there's less chance for customer disappointment.
  10. The mild hybrid system sounds great... for their sake, I hope it works as planned. And that the advantages are noticeable by the consumer. Only thing I really don't like about this truck is the massive do-everything screen. I don't much care for the dual-screen infotainment setup in Honda and Infiniti and it seems even more out of place in a truck.
  11. The face I just made when I saw that grille... looked exactly like that grille.
  12. Somehow I think Ford thinks they've squeezed all they can out of D3/4 and would be reluctant to use it for another new model.
  13. It's almost like Autoblog decided to actually pay attention to what the vehicle was (a big American SUV) instead of lamenting what it wasn't (a Benz).
  14. Correct. GLE is to GLS as Grand Cherokee is to Durango.
  15. I just kicked tires on and test drove a GL450 this afternoon and no, no it is not. They're close. GLS is slightly bigger than Durango.
  16. A friend of mine wondered aloud (on Facebook, anyway), if Elon Musk was running a Ponzi scheme named Tesla.
  17. Fueleconomy.gov also updated the ratings for all cars sold in the USA at that time too. You have to dig for the old numbers now, which were usually actually higher before the revised formula was implemented.
  18. I've seen that down here. I strongly considered laying on my horn as loud as I could, but decided that it would cause more problems than solutions.
  19. I would have guessed a Lincoln model first, but you might be right.
  20. Found what I found about it. Apparently the Trailblazer wasn't intended for our market.
