  1. I study politics and your just plain wrong. China has many many problems. All the problems that have already been listed in this thread are huge. Think about it, the Chinese want boys to carry on thier name, but how will that happen if no one wants to have girls anymore? Did you know that some men actually kidnap women in China so they can have a son? Also China gets a lot of food through trade with the U.S. and they still don't have enough. They are a country that is industrializing in a time in the world when oil isn't as cheap or easy to find as it once was. They will struggle with both their political (taiwain more than tibet because we sell weapons to taiwan and have always had a pro taiwan policy..ever hear or the two-china policy?), their demographical (no one wants to have their one allowed child be a girl because they want a boy to carry on family names), resource problems (food and oil), internal problems (unrest caused by social problems), and education problems (you have no idea how many people in China are illiterate). Our problems in the U.S don't even compare. In fact without the U.S., China would be screwed. We give them a source of money, technology, and food through trade. The chinese government is not stable. Think about this, why else would they put down Tibetian protestors so strictly if they weren't afraid of losing power? How will they deal with all the problems their country faces? If they don't do something, expect thing to change quickly for the worse in China in the near future. BTW for all those people that think China's military is a threat to our own...lol... do some research. We spend so much more money than them on the military, their technology is no where near ours. Numbers isn't everything, especially when it comes down to getting enough supplies, getting good enough supplies, and then trying to distribute them.
  2. I've seen quite a few new focuses around up at college. They look pretty decent. I think I actually like this one better than the last model.
  3. Don't even start with me. I have enough to worry about with a double major. This is a FORUM not a 10-20 page PAPER. So keep your dumb little comments to yourself. PS Out of college sooner? WTF you want me to graduate sooner then in 4 yrs? They WON'T let you take enough credits to do that!!
  4. Seems like that would make a lot more sense as a temporary solution than ethanol. Would def make the decision on what F150 engine to buy if diesel was cheaper than gas lol.
  5. You mean like the Fiesta and in europe the Kuga? :P And very soon a new Focus. Ford might actually have a good lineup soon :happy feet:
  6. Hey Ford just put up a transit site. Check it out: http://www.fordvehicles.com/transitconnect/
  7. Guess it doesnt matter much to me, I won't be able to get one till I'm out of college. I live in jersey so auto insurence will kill me untill I'm 25...
  8. Hey wasn't sure if anyone noticed this, but Ford has a site up for the transit now. http://www.fordvehicles.com/transitconnect/
  9. Unfortionately, I think the easiest way to pay the debt would have to be something along the lines of an additional tax on gas. Of course no one will do that because of the huge backlash it would most likely create. lol
  10. Doesn't it have something to do with heating oil?
  11. Yeah isn't that about a year after the new F-150 is released? I heard fall for new F-150?
  12. I have a 97 F150. I bought it used though. I've only had it for around 4 yrs so far. I'll prolly have it till I'm out of college. So that would mean I'd have had it for around 7-8 yrs and it will be around 14 yrs old, maybe 15 depending on when I get my first new car. (new F150 and hopefully one day a mustang too)
  13. ......Obama has stated that he will make the taxation process more fair. He never said anything about raising taxes. Obama is pro middle/working class. Idk where you got your info on that. P.S. yay 400 posts :happy feet:
  14. Its believed by many scientists that the warming trend is caused by a combination of solar activity, geothermal activity, lack of major volcanic eruptions (particles from them interfere with sun's rays), and the different phases of the atlantic and pacific oceans (negative(cold) or positive(warm) PDO/ADO, more commonly known as la ninas(cold) and el ninos(warm). So since we are now in a la nina (we've had mostly el ninos since the 70's) we need to pay close attention to the global temperatures to see if they trend colder if we are truly now in a la nina phase. P.S. I follow weather related topics closely, especially in the winter, would love to see a blizzard for the Philly/ South Jersey area.
  15. I'm pretty sure the thinking is that if we continue in the la nina phase and the earth continues to trend colder for at least 5-10 yrs then it would be a trend and that would support the idea that the warming we have experienced is also a trend. So we won't really know for quite a while...
  16. I've seen quite a few explorers that are still used off-road.... Anyway, I think that in one of the press releases concerning the ecoboost engines it was stated that they could run on regular.
  17. Whens the next auto show? And how many are left this year? Anyone know? I'm dying to hear the new numbers and hopefully an announcement on the 6.2l, diesel, and ecoboost engines.
  18. I like RWD... Its making a come back in NA. Probably because of all the retro muscle cars coming out. Notice G8 is RWD and Ford is supposed to have a RWD. LOL even Hyndai (sp?) is coming out with a RWD.
  19. I think its funny that the last few months have actually been cooler (probably due to la nina which is the cool phase of the pacific ocean, we've had mostly el ninos (warm phase) since the 70's) and that both sides are reacting to data from just a few months. One side saying see we told you it wasn't global warming and the other side (who also uses at beat "leaky" data) shouting in outrage that the data is not sufficient to disprove global warming. Which of course it isnt, but there really isnt enough data to say its not just a trend that the earth is going through either. Its kind of ironic how a little bit of data can change everyone's perceptions. Anyone notice more talk of global cooling lately?
  20. I'm pretty sure there was a press release saying it would have an ecoboost v6 with 250+ hp? (I forget the actual number they gave) and an ecoboost 4 cylinder...
