  1. My local dealer delivered 3 of these where they had to make sure the bake and tailights work. The factory didn't connect the the connectors and as a result none of the lights on the back of the car were working. They found this out during the PDI process. Is quality still Job 1???
  2. Hey Guys, FYI just got the 1 each of the 2011 Mercury Milan and Mariner Brochures from my dealer. Looks like it has more pages in them than what is shown on the mercuryvehicles.com website. Carforford
  3. Vehicle on it's way back to dealer tomorrow morning. Reverse Sensing System is inoperative.....but hey, at least the trim lines up!!!
  4. Well, finally got the car back after being in the shop for 15 days...Trans shifts better and vehicle is a lot quicker than it ever was brand new.... Note to Ford Management: I am very happy that Fusion and Milan has The highest quality of any Ford vehicle out there. Great, wonderful.... However I am more concerned about having a vehicle where the trans shift correctly than the tolerances of how the dash lines up with the a-pilars. As someone who has had 4 of the last 6 Ford Products with bad valve-bodies on different carlines from Ford with very low mileage., I find this to be completely inexcusable in a vehicle known for quality and at this low milage. I don't need performance algorithm shifting in this vehicle but rather a vehicle that shifts when it is placed in drive. This is a wide spread issue, based on what I have seen at my dealer and online.....An issue that FoMoCo needs to fix and fast!
  5. 15 Days and counting.....Still in the shop. Dealer said that transmission work is all done so now they are going to check out the brakes for the clicking noise.....I am NOT happy. They say if all goes well, I should be able to get it on Monday...Hope so. This car has 21 months left on the lease and I only hope it goes quick....This is one car I am looking forward to returning on that day..More updates soon.
  6. Still have no idea when I am getting the car back. Dealer called yesterday and said they are having a hard time getting a new valve body. There must be a whole bunch of Fusion/Milans with this trouble. AttN Ford: This is REALLY UNACCEPTABLE for a vehicle with 13K on it. 8 days out of service!!! Not good, not scoring points with family friend and neighbors....
  7. Still have not got the car back yet.... In other news they are also checking out my brakes because the front calipers seem like they are clicking during low speed (parking lot) maneuvers. Well, at least it is under warranty....
  8. My 2010 Milan V6 AWD with 13K on it has this issue as well. My local dealer has the car for about a week and the trans tech came back with a bad valve body and a few other parts as well. What those few other parts are in the tranny, I do not know but will find out when I pick the car up on Thursday. Yes, I got the re-flash notice back in March and no, it didn't make any difference. My symptoms were as follows: 1,2,3,4 gear changes were slow while in Auto Mode but if I put it in to Manual Mode it shifted just fine. Drive -Reverse & Reverses to Drive "No Load Condition" Now, I am a big FoMoCo fan and I would never dream of buying anything that isn't wearing the Blue Oval or Lincoln star but this is the fourth Ford product I have had in the last 10 years that has had a valve body/ Torque Converter go with very little mileage . No I don't abuse my cars and if anything they are over-maintained (even the Milan which is on a lease) To Alan and the other Execs: After 107 years of building cars and trucks, can't you guys build an auto trans that can go longer than 27K without a rebuild? Fit and Finish and build quality only goes so far but when the trans goes you ain't moving. It doesn't look good for my wife either who was an imports only person, and after seeing the Milan, she wanted to check out a new Edge to replace her Honda CRV but after this has happened now she will think twice about it. I am a Ford/Lincoln guy for life, so this company does not need to win me over but it needs to win over people like my wife, and this type of breakdown at this mileage does not score points. Thank You.
  9. I'm sure that Barry O and Company want to remain in office past 2012, but that is their plan and then there is a reality of a new administration. Nobody wants to drive micro- cars around.
  10. Hey, 3 Quick questions: Does anyone know what the last day of production will be? Also are there any more Grand Marquis still being produced? What about Town Cars and Taxi/Police Crown Victoria? Thank You
  11. I heard some 1974 Mustang II's may be prone to rust as well, as some Fairmonts from 1978.....
  12. Unfortunately I see it going the way of Mercury in about 5 years time or less....I just hope I am wrong...
  13. Imagine Yourself Without A Mercury Now (Famous Tag Line Reworded)
  14. Just was at my dealer yesterday. They had a 2011 Milan in Gray with the V6/AW, CTA and BLIS, Moon & Tune. One other thing, I have a full color book called the "2010/2011 Ford Order Guide Companion". They show most 2011 Ford and Lincolns and the 2011 Milan/Mariner. They have a huge photo in it similar to the brochure showing the appearance package on that 2011 Milan in Tuxedo Black Met. The car looks good! I will try to scan some pictures of the book if I can.
  15. Excuse me Mr. Barry O. but people do not want boring transportation that accelerates out of control.
  16. From an ad that Ford did around '91-92 they even had a funny headline that said "1 For The Money and 2 For The SHO". :hyper:
  17. Hello, For all Lincoln Mercury Dealers out there. Can anyone get a hold of a "Hard Copy" of the 2011 Milan and Mariner Brochures. I know they are on the MercuryVehicles.com site. The only brochures they are sending out are the 3 page mailer flyers. They say to go to the dealer to get the real brochure. If they are even available, I would be much appreciative. If anyone can PM me, I can send you my mailing address. Thank You.
  18. Any vehicle I ever owned which had the Posi on it, I never replaced the clutch packs. Just simple fluid change and it lasted the life of the vehicle.
  19. Brochure for the 2011 Mariner and Milan were added in PDF format this week (Monday). My dealer also had the 2011 Color and Trims Binder for Mercury and also expects the 2011 Mercury Source book soon. I saw the pictures of the (Appearance Package). They are just using up the MKZ chrome door handles and Mirror housings. I called Ford Motor Company today to request the brochures and was told that they send out the tri-fold brochures (not the actually ones for 2011) but the computer generated ones. When I called dealers around NYC/Westchester County NY and nearby Connecticut for the real brochure I was told they would not get them. They only had '10 brochures left. The cars they have though are 2011 Mercurys. My dealer - Smith-Carins in Yonkers had 3 2011 Mariners this week and 1 2011 Milan. Hope this helps. Any questions, let me know.
  20. I guess this is what Pontiac meant when it said "We Build Excitement"
  21. At least if you are in an EcoBoost SHO or MKS you won't see it very often. BTW, it looks like they used the Challenger lights and rear...
  22. Yes, I am with you on this one. I grew up on V-8 power when all my friends were driving v6's and there was a difference. Now I am driving a V-6 and I don't care how much power that 4 banger puts out, there is too much vibration.
