  1. I have a Remington 870 with a 20" barrel and it's a good size and length for in the house in tight situations. I also have a Glock Model 27 40 cal for the night stand and what I carried when I had a permit.
  2. The entire incentive program to purchase EV's will go away within two years and hopefully return in 2020. Big oil, with the help of the Trump administration, will once again successfully kill the electric car.
  3. I started reading and it sounded like nonsense. I wasn't passing judgement on anyone, I was expressing MY opinion on the general topic of what one aspect of being anti-American means to me, not accepting the views of others. No one can can control how someone thinks or feels and how they treat other people, until it becomes criminal, but it bothers me when someone tells me I'm wrong just because I don't share their viewpoint. I accept what someone believes as theirs and I expect the courtesy of them to accept mine then move on, but I reject when someone tries to aggressively cram their beliefs down my throat. Just because I do something differently, doesn't make it wrong, it makes it different. I could cares less what Amy Shumer, Alec Baldwin, Rosi O'Donnell or any other celebrity with an opinion and a platform thinks, and that goes for Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Mike Huckabee or anyone else on the right with an opinion and a platform, and that's all their views are, opinions. If you're going to post on a forum, any forum, expect responses you don't agree with, or responses that take the conversation in another direction. If your point is solid and you don't have to angrily defend it, that's great, but don't let thin skin cloud your point.
  4. What's Anti-American is someone telling another person how the think or what their doing is wrong just because they don't agree. The only exceptions are criminal acts and personal or emotional harm to another person.
  5. At least they learned from the original design of the Rav 4 and designed the tailgate/taildoor to swing away from the curb.
  6. Just watched on Smithsonian channel the Super Car Super Build episode featuring the design, build and testing of the 50th anniversary Mustang. It was an interesting inside look at the process. Well worth finding the rebroadcast for those with Smithsonian channel.
  7. If trading in and purchasing a new Fusion is an option, I say get rid of it. That's not a lot of miles in today's standards, but once they start to go, it's one thing after the other.
  8. Do you think Ford will build a MY 2019, or extend the 2018, in it's current version, until the "new & improved" EV line-up is unveiled in late 2019/2020?
  9. The 1.5L is plenty of engine for a FWD Fusion weighing in at 3472 pound and I'm averaging over all 33.8 mpg's. The 4WD Escape weighs 3765 and 293 pounds probably won't make any difference, but you will want the more powerful engine if you need to use 4WD regularly.
  10. Unless you're in California, the desert southwest or below the Mason-Dixon line, wouldn't you expect Mustang sale to drop off right before winter?
  11. +1 on Flood Ford. After I got my 2017 Fusion, I was ready to purchase out of pocket an ESP from Flood. When I was signing the paperwork, my dealership asked about purchasing an ESP, I told them my plan and they sold me one at their cost, which was $13 above Flood's internet volume price. Worked out good for me because I was able to roll it into my financing.
  12. I got my 2017 Weather Tech (oops, meant Weather Beater) Husky mats today and they fit beautifully and provide great coverage. I'm not wishing for sloppy weather, but I'm prepared.
  13. Once they realized they had sent the wrong part, AutoAnything was very apologetic. If you purchase 2017 Fusion Husky floor liners make, sure it's part number 98791
  14. Do not purchase the Husky WeatherBeater Liners for the 2017, they don't fit. I don't know if it's a bad design, or they're trying to sell the 2013-2016 liners for the 2017, but there isn't enough depth from the dead pedal to the firewall, so there's a space under the mat at the transition from the floor pan to the firewall. I tried twice to get them to fit and no luck. I'm going to call AutoAnything tomorrow for an explanation and to arrange to return them.
  15. I just checked the Weather Tech site and floor mats are now available for the 2017 Fusion. Direct from their web site, Weather Tech wants $179.90 plus shipping for a full set and $109.95 plus shipping for a set of fronts only. I found a much better deal at http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/husky-liners-weatherbeater-floor-liners where the Husky WeatherBeaters are $125.96 for a full set and free shipping, plus, no tax in Minnesota. I like Husky liners because they're more flexible and easier to get in and out, especially when there's melted snow in them.
  16. Other manufacturers got it right (or at least far fewer issues), it's too bad Ford got it so wrong.
  17. Did the reviewer drive the car? The article sounded like information from a FMC media release.
  18. This should be the new PHEV. Stretch the battery out under the car and under the cargo area to increase size and range and maintain a decent amount of cargo space.
  19. What's the deal with Cadillac's elongated LED daytime running light strips? I think they look ridiculous.
  20. If you can afford this car, you can afford putting fuel in it.
  21. A relative of mine (now retired) was at the executive level of a large electronics company on the East Coast. Among many other things, they design and manufacture EV charging stations and are working on building the infrastructure to place charging locations across the country. They had meetings with all the players in the EV industry and I was told about one with Mark Fields where he said (and I'm recalling from memory from last summer) Ford was moving forward with the technology, but he was not totally behind it. I believe they said he felt Ford's best interest is developing better and more efficient ICE vehicles. I think you're right about doing just enough to stay in the game and I'll add will build the new plant, design and build a new line, but won't totally commit until the technology is as far as researchers think it can go, and the market will support full scale manufacturing.
  22. This statement was made to give the impression Ford is working on and near development of an autonomous vehicle, whether it's true or not. The research is taking place and I'm sure Ford has invested some cash to a new division, but if anyone thinks an autonomous vehicle will be on the road in five years, I have a bridge to sell. Why would Fields be behind this when he barely supports EV technology? This is futuristic stuff that our infrastructure and society is not even close to accepting.
  23. My Ultimate Sunshade came today. If fits really nice side to side and top to bottom, but there's about a 2 inch gap with no coverage below the front facing sensor. I don't know if the sensor is smaller on the 2017 vs. the 2016, but I don't think it will be a big deal, 99% of the windshield is covered.
