  1. A true Full Size Bronco, based on the Raptor F150. It would be easy to do, just open the back of the cab and add a removable rear hatch/cap. Call it the Bronco Grande, (good Ford name from the past) Bronco XL. It would give Ford an awesome off road capable vehicle for the growing Overland Community.
  2. Never going to happen with the current leadership in DC and Dearborn, and their anti ICE stances, but I think it would sell. I think Ford missed the boat not taking an S550 chassis and modifying it into a true two seat sports car to compete against Cadillac and Mercedes. They could have called Lincoln Panther...gurr.
  3. Hey Ice, Have you got 2021 Mach 1 production numbers, color and option take rates?
  4. This thread leave me thinking that my 2022 Eruption Green Mach 1 with Handling Pack, both late availability items, and the fact that I am not a 2021 carry over, means I'm looking at an April build date at earliest. Sound in the ball park? Not a problem, more time to build the down payment war chest.
  5. Saw this and wanted to add my 2 cents. David Pearson and A.J.Foyt were my two favorite drivers growing up on the '60s and '70s and they both drove Fords, what a shock...not!
  6. Kind of disappointed we haven't heard any news since January.
  7. I am in no hurry, every week it takes means more money down. I'm figuring April/May is a good target for my Eruption Green (late availability) Handling Package (late availability) Mach 1.
  8. Waiting to see how much I saved ordering my Mach 1 two weeks ago. Mustang wasn't on the list...yet.
  9. I think BOP changes are based almost entirely on lack of direct factory support and politics. As Ford stopped spending money and supporting teams, the BOP got worse and worse. When Ford stopped backing the GT-4 teams, nobody wanted to run them for both money and BOP reasons. The fact that a Mustang took pole in Atlanta (only to sit out the race) is almost a miracle. I really hope they develop a car and run in GT-3 as well as refine and back the GT-4, but I haven't seen or heard anything but that Racer magazine article a month or so ago. Ford hasn't exerted any real time and money into racing outside of NASCAR, even the GTLM program wasn't done as well as GM. They totally abandoned drag racing. Yeah, they badged Force's and a few other cars, but gave up Pro Stock even with guys that were spending tons of their own time and money and just needed raw parts and a little wind tunnel time. They freaking spent time and money to develop a new engine, then wouldn't give the parts to teams trying to run them. Now we have Pro Stock Mustangs with GM engines %^&**)#@!!! I understand the BOP frustrations with the GT. They go out of their way to use a V6 to narrow the care and decrease drag only to have their engines choked with boost limits and their minimum weight increased so they were carrying 20kg more than anyone else, increasing tire wear. Their innovation and performance achievements were stricken down with the flick of a pen. BUT, it didn't help things that they told EVERYONE they were only playing for four years, then leaving once they won LM. What is the FIA going to do, help them come and poach their series only to hit and run, rather than support the series like the rest of the field? Ford brought this upon themselves by not supporting racing, all the time, as opposed to when it suits their suits.
  10. Because they are lazy and don't really care about enthusiasts, else they would have had the Coyote kits available a couple years before they did. Also, they would have a kit available to make easy retrofit into older Mod Motor vehicles like chevy did for their LS engines. The only way to do a retrofit, especially in CA is to get an entire donor car and reuse the dash, harnesses, modules, etc., etc. If they were really interested in gasoline powered performance there are a lot of things they could have easily done or do. It took years for people to break the code to mod the 6 speed auto and to get around the anti-theft in the Coyote ECU, only to have Ford finally release a factory version right after. You'd think they would anticipate the need and demand, it would have kept a lot of LS engines out of Ford chassis over the years.
  11. I haven't seen this anywhere else, like sportscar365, etc. Hope it is true though.
  12. Any idea when the 2019 Mustang "Build & Price" app will be available on the ford.com website?
  13. I would have rather seen the 5.2L N/A engine in the GT originally but, yes that was definitely a April Fools joke. They wouldn't need a turbo to get the 600 horsepower from a race version of the Voodoo engine needed to compete in GTLM anyway. There is some speculation that the EB 5.0L is going to be the next GT500 engine. They have built a prototype Twin Turbo Coyote 5.0L V8, and put it in a Cobra Jet Mustang a year or so ago, and it looked awesome. But, it fits better in the less crowded "Off Road Only" engine compartment.
  14. We have an all white "stealth" PUI around here, it doesn't have any markings at all. All you can see is the housing for the LEDs in front of the visors, steel wheels, mesh cage for the back seats and painted white side spotlights. Could be undercover or detective unit, not sure the agency as there was no one near it.
  15. OK, That makes even more sense than just moving low margin vehicles to lower wage plants. Aren't the smaller, lower margin cars more popular in other parts of the world than here in the US too? I figure, let the UAW build the high profit larger cars and trucks and let the lower paid plants build the marginal profit cars to help the overall bottom line. If Mexican trade agreements make it easier to export and expand footprint all the better.
  16. The TV coverage didn't show the incident #67 had in the final moments, nor did it even mention it's fall of 2 spots. One of the corporate guys said something about it, but didn't say where it happened or with who. It was pretty cool to see the #1 blazing on the side of the Ford GT for the bunch of laps it lead after the Red Flag period. In case you worn't watching, the Red Flag was for Lightning and Extreme Rain Downpours, flooding the track. They had to get the corner workers and camera operators under cover and had to stop. Next stop Long Beach for a sprint race and Silverstone for the opening race of WEC, happening on the same weekend, April 15-17. I'm looking forward to Laguna Seca 2 weeks later as I'll be flagging a corner for the weekend, and should get some up close views of the action.
  17. They looked to be getting out braked slightly to me, but their straight line speeds (trap speeds) were probably tops in class. It could be the drivers, and the lack of time/laps in the car, or just not needing or wanting to push it. I noticed it in the first hour, before all the problems started. They were definitely more than holding their own on the track, only really losing time in the pit and garage.
  18. Just got back from my first Rolex 24 and I can say that the Ford GT would win any beauty contest, hands down. They look amazing, even more so in person. If you haven't been to an IMSA race and done the Grid Walk prior to the race, you are really missing out, especially at Daytona. We went up the tri-oval and signed the wall for good luck, but it didn't work. The GTs seem to have the legs on the high banks but looked to get out braked into turn one quite a lot. They have a most interesting sound when downshifting, sort of a Pah, Pah, Pah, that mimics the Ganassi Prototypes running the same engines, which makes sense, but seems much different than at Laguna Seca last year. If you get a chance to go to a race, do it! IMSA knows how to put on a fun race and being able to see the cars and drivers on the grid and in the garage is very cool. Only the NHRA pits are better, but that has more to do with Nitro and warming the cars up 3 feet from your face, Awesome! Hoping for some better luck at Sebring, though one of the GTs lead a couple laps early, so the speed is definitely there.
  19. I would think that Mustang would do even better if more were available, at least for a year or two. I know the few that were offered were sold out in no time, just like Australia's quota, that was spoken for in a matter of days. There is a clamoring for the car that is finally available, especially in RHD countries. It might be a limited market, but it is not close to being served by the number of Mustangs sent there.
  20. I like this: "The Voodoo engine does everything well, from puttering around town to frightening small animals. WardsAuto editors consider it the pinnacle of internal-combustion engineering."
  21. Looks like a slightly "sporty" Transit Connect, not anything like a Bronco.
  22. That is the key with the new Camaro and its weight savings, it is now quite a bit smaller than Mustang.
  23. If the Fusion gets the 2.7L EB what happens to the EB Mustang, do we see more bang like the 3.5L EB everyone's been clamoring for?
