  1. Discussion floating around the internetz is positive thus far.
  2. I absolutely hated it at first glance, but after looking at it from other angles, it's ok. Not great, just ok. The real news is all the chassis refinements. Maybe this one will actually drive like a premium car.
  3. If it doesn't hit warp, it will at least hit plaid.
  4. I had an Edge for a little over two years and I really liked it. I have a 2011 Grand Cherokee now, and in most situations, the Edge was a better vehicle. The only reason I opted for the Jeep is because I need the towing capacity and off road capability since I no longer have a pick-up. Don't get me wrong, the Jeep is a fabulous vehicle, but on pavement it's more trucky nature works against it.
  5. Reading comments from other sites and I am seeing exactly what I expected, people saying it looks like the CRV and Tucson. The problem is that the CRV and Tucson are blatant Kuga knock-offs that got here before the Escape. That said, I like it. Prior to this model, there was no way I'd even consider buying an Escape over the Edge. The Edge was always better looking, had a better interior, a better engine, and a better chassis. Now though, the Escape is probably the better buy, especially if pricing remains relatively flat. I bet the 2.0L EB models scoot.
  6. I love the continuous improvement we're seeing. The car was heavily updated in 2010, then it got all new power trains in 2011, and then it's heavily updated again in 2013. In that same time frame, the Camaro got, well, not much.
  7. I kind of find this whole situation a little amusing. GM is the worst poker player in the auto industry, they always lay their cards on the table too early. When did they show the Z28 Concept? I believe it was the 2010 NY Auto Show. Anyways, the whole world has known it was coming for a long time, giving the competition plenty of time to prepare for it. Low and behold, the car isn’t even out yet and it has been leapfrogged.
  8. Can we stop posting such huge pictures? Shrink them down! That said, you still can't tell a whole lot from this. Why does the top car have a trailer hitch?
  9. Well, the Camaro excuse train is going full steam right now. IMO, the only reason to buy a ZL1 is if you have to have an automatic trans. Otherwise, the new Shelby just destroys it.
  10. I love the new trend of stylized LED tail lights. The Charger, Explorer, and CLS come to mind. The Mustang appears to follow this trend as well.
  11. A lot of people bitch about the black plastic that runs along the bottom of most Fords, I happen to like it. Sure, it doesn't look as finished as painted metal, but it also doesn't get banged up after three or four months.
  12. I'd have bought one instead of the Charger if it were available in the States.
  13. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=24671 How does 145hp and 177lb-ft sound?
  14. Ford has been pretty loyal to LA when it comes to the Mustang.
  15. MFT? Check. TiVCT 3.5L? Check. Revised facia? Check. It's exactly the same update Ford gave the Taurus. Not saying it's a good or bad thing, just predictable.
  16. Hopefully the update makes it work as well as Chrysler's Uconnect 8.4.
  17. Made up words and real words that are spelled incorrectly on purpose are two different things.
  18. I mock Infiniti, the Chevy Cruze, and the Pontiac Aztek for it too. It's a lame trend.

  20. I'm convinced that the DCT problem is half Ford's fault and half the consumer's fault. This is a non-issue in Europe, where DCTs are common. I'm guessing that the Euro version and U.S. version are tuned differently, the Euro version being tuned like a normal DCT and the U.S. version being tuned to simulate a conventional automatic. If Ford would have just left the Euro tune in there and told consumers that it's just how a DCT is supposed to feel, they would be getting a lot less criticism, especially from the press. They may have lost some customers, but I'm not sure they wouldn't have picked up new customers who actually like the feel of a good DCT. Does anybody else find it interesting that nobody complains about VW's DSG transmission when it feels and operates like one is supposed to?
  21. This is a product of aggressively putting out new and updated products. Give it a year and most of the issues will have been fixed.
