  1. Oh well...hey, if they are throwing in an Apple iPad, I guess that is the clincher...as long as they also pay for my internet access for the warranty period too....
  2. But, you are missing the point...while I am glad that F150 gets class leading mileage....I don't need nor do I want a truck that big. if F150 can get that kind of mileage...imagine what Ranger would do with a 1.6L Ecoboost engine and six speed automatic.
  3. Ruffled feathers? Ha! Just reliving my first couple of cars and one I am restoring now, a 1976 Mercury Montego MX with column shifted 3 speed automatic, bench seats with a center arm rest, floor mounted dimmer switch, vinyl half roof, opera windows, Lincoln style "gun sight" stand up hood ornament, and white wall tires.....
  4. While you are at it, why not get a nice flat bench seat too....
  5. The main brunt of discussion is can Ford bring in a sub-F150 sized vehicle without cannibalizing sales of F150? I say yes, they can. prior to the introduction of Ranger as a separate line of trucks from F-series in the early eighties, Ford built a lighter duty version of F150 with smaller components and lighter GVWR and called it F100...I owned one (a 1980 model) and since it was built from the same basic structure as F150, it was counted in overall F-series sales....I believe Ford can re-visit this strategy and build a light duty truck off the F150 chassis, call it F100, nose from the Expedition, lower belt line for the box....etc, etc, etc...I would buy one in a minute if it got 25-30 MPG overall.....
  6. ...and some anti-depressant medication prescribed by a doctor....
  7. ...and? What repair action has the dealer undertaken? Or is this it? Come and complain about it....
  8. Don't know about Jersey...but in NYS police and peace officers are exempt from the law while on duty....
  9. I am sure it will be optional on SE and SEL models, standard on Titanium models and have auto ejector seats with puddle lamps for the Lincoln variant.... :shades:
  10. It looks like a Phaethon sat on it.....
  11. Here is a related yet unrelated question...Ford supposedly had readied a Mercury version of the new Focus and that it was going to debut at either the New York or Chicago auto show but it was pulled at the last minute due to Fords decision to end Mercury. Does anyone have any idea what it was going to look like?? Are there any pictures of it out there floating around??
  12. bu..bu..bu...bu....no luxury car maker can ever make a front wheel driven automobile...this is ludicrous...how dare they!!!!
  13. The beefing up of components goes right along with the extra duty equipment found in the new Police Interceptor sedan and utility vehicles. This will bode well for all the lines and keep the prices in line with what the market will bare....
  14. Jalopnik article Interesting design....different yet instantly recognizable.
  15. You are correct Tom, but it only bolsters my opinion that the G8 would have fared better as a Caprice in the Chevrolet showroom.
  16. That about figures as MKT appeals to the same demographic as Town Car....now all Ford has to do to make the move complete is to rename it MKTc
  17. While true that the base engine for G8 was a 3.6L "high feature" V6....it seems that all Pontiac wanted to promote was the V8 versions...afterall, Pontiac was known as the "Excitement Division"....and what is exciting about a 256 HP V6 in a 4000 lb vehicle...... :shades:
  18. Magnetos work better than batteries in Metro Detroit.....
