  1. Not a storied brand? Hmmm, lets see, the guy the created Cadillac, did so out of the bones of the first company Henry Ford created, then he sells Cadillac to GM and creates Lincoln...then Henry Ford buys Lincoln to slide it into his stable....interesting story indeed.... As for Cadillacs "world standing" , that was created by an ad agency....Cadillacs today are much more competitive against rivals such as BMW, Audi, Benz, et al and so will Lincoln as long as Ford keeps going in the right direction with Lincoln.....
  2. I agree....I really like the look and function-ability of the hatch design...
  3. Not a NASCAR entry but a foray into SCCA would be nice.....go head to head with BMW, Lexus, Cadillac et al....
  4. If he is doing a 65 mile a day commute and it is highway driving, the value of a Prius (or any hybrid for that matter) diminishes greatly. He would be better off in the aforementioned Focus or similar sub-compact hatch with an efficient 4 cylinder / manual transmission setup....Have you considered a Used I4/manual Fusion or older Focus...say one or two years old?
  5. I wonder if anyone has put the vehicle on a frame machine to check to see if it is "square"......my guess is that this is a design flaw in the chassis architecture and they will not be able to correct it until the next model change over...
  6. I am sure it will be a darling down at the Avis/Enterprise/Hertz /Dollar/Thrifty lots...next to the Altimas, Sonatas, Optimas, and Camrys....
  7. This is a "chop" of something artandcolour posted in the photoshop section over a year ago.....it is awesome!
  8. But Econoline can benefit from the R&D work expended on F150 and that spreads the costs out even further.....
  9. You asked me, and I gave you my opinion...she had a good run, but a suspension system that debuted in 1965 can safely be replaced with a more modern SLA style suspension system.
  10. The Twin I-beam is an archaic design that needs to go the way of the "torque tube" drive shaft, flat head V8 and body on frame automobile construction ( :poke: )...you can tweak it all you want, but it is still a basic swing axle design that every other manufacturer has abandoned a long, long time ago from suspension systems
  11. I am amazed that it is still in production is all....maybe it is fine for F250/350 (considered "light duty" despite the Super Duty moniker)...but really....Ford can and should develop a more modern front suspension system for their light duty trucks / vans.
  12. If they are modding the trucks by adding suspension parts (and in some cases, removing suspension parts) along with removing the speed limiters...how long before some aftermarket company comes up with an "off road frame" from the jounce cups rearward that will bolt/weld into place for the "extreme off roader" types....
  13. "inside the fence"....you sneaky lil devil....
  14. Well.....looks like Twin I Beam is going to stay for a while....this suspension is also under F-250/350 4X2 models.......
  15. The beauty is that Ford can sell Transit Connect without having to give Bloomie his due........
  16. Why is it ok for Lt Dan to shit down Ford's Lincoln brand...but Farley cannot speak poorly about GMs' Chevrolet brand?? TFB!
  17. An upgrade in powertrains and the front suspension would be most welcome by fleet buyers....Imagine a 3.7L V6/6 speed automatic combo E-150 with an F-150 style front suspension.....zero cost to Ford for the upgrade and Ford keeps it's grip on the van segment for years to come.
  18. Don't forget the aftermarket....they got ya covered...(no pun intended)
  19. Wondering if it was the hairstyle or the three day beard..... :shades:
