  1. You talk to your dads truck? ....quick, tell it that it is really a B2300. I now understand why you are such a "good"<cough cough> accident adjuster, you just go and ask the cars themselves what happened....cars never lie.... :hysterical:
  2. No wait!! Lets call it the Chevrolet BLS (Bob Lutz Special) Special thanks to Richard for the musical interlude...helps get the GM news down.
  3. Ole Bob Lutz strikes again!!! If Buicks are now "The new class of world class." What does that do to Cadillac?
  4. Don't worry....Jaguar / Land Rover will come on strong any second now.....right T-Stag? T-Stag?? Teeeeeeeee-StaaaaaaaaaaG....where are you????
  5. oooh...I got an idea! Lets get this in the Crown Victoria (and a 12 speed automatic while we're at it) so it can be built forever....
  6. RJ, The cost of that tooling (the extra for North America) will be included in the initial investment....planned replacements are factored in and a mid cycle freshening similar to what Fusion went through is peanuts comparatively speaking to an entirely new design. It should sell reasonably well here.
  7. No....it is why I said "real" price gap with quotes....dealers are demanding (and getting) full MSRP on hybrids...while you can negotiate on a non-hybrid. The gap is greater than what you are showing. I really, really like the Fusion Hybrid....but sensibility dictated that I wait.
  8. The point is simple...when it becomes more affordable without a "subsidy" to buy it....it will become mainstream...until then, mostly greenies and tax dodgers are interested in hybrids.
  9. The "real" price gap of a Fusion I4 vs a Fusion Hybrid is between $5000 to $7000 depending on configuration...I wanted to get a hybrid, took one out for a test drive (and loved it) but in the end, it didn't make sense to spend all that extra $$$ for a return that wouldn't be fully realized for 6-7 years. In the end, I kept my 2006....we'll see what EcoBoost does. I did drive a Fusion with the I4 / 6 speed auto combo...it was nice, but I am used to the "snap" of my V6....hopefully, EcoBoost can change my mind....
  10. ...but the Honda faithful (aka sheeple) will buy it in droves and exclaim, "What a wonderful idea from Honda."
  11. The sad thing is that these rental queens usually end up in the used car pool hawked by the "auto mega mall" and "used car king" to an unsuspecting sector of the public that thinks they are saving thousands. These same customers are usually the ones that then go on to sue the manufacturer for not having these safety items on the vehicle in the first place after they have an accident, fueled up by ambulance chasing lawyers that use the same tactics as the "auto mega mall" and "used car king" in their advertising. A vicious circle that I applaud GM for trying to break.
  12. You may be thinking of the Wood Brothers and their field of Mercurys....
  13. Cell Block Technologies Inc. From their web site... Sounds like some sort of interface can be created to add this technology to any vehicle....simple programming code is required. I would love to see Ford incorporate this in their "My Key" system to ensure that the person using the car with the key would also not be able to text or call on the cell while driving.
  14. How about a device that blocks the use of cell devices unless it is routed through an approved vehicle device?
  15. Well, now that Ford has added the cancel button...I will vote yes...
  16. I hear what you are saying Richard, but my elderly parents bought a Mazda5 as it was much easier to maneuver, and my disabled father can get into it much better than the Camry they traded it in for.....and when they were shopping, they were selling reasonably well.....one dealer lost out since they wouldn't accept X-Plan on it due to the popularity of the car.
